Your role:
 In order to ensure quality healthcare services, the Certified Nurse Midwife provides direct patient care to women, which includes gynecologic, prenatal, and postpartum care. Additionally, the CNM provides clinical leadership to other providers around perinatal services.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

<li>Follows evidenced-based practice guidelines and standards of care.</li>
<li>Provides direct patient care to women from menarche to end of life.</li>
<li>Evaluates and treats patients for gynecologic, prenatal, and postpartum concerns.</li>
<li>Provides family planning and contraceptive services.</li>
<li>Performs newborn assessment at first post-birth appointment.</li>
<li>Arranges referrals and consultation for patients with healthcare needs beyond the scope of practice.</li>
<li>Coordinates group visits as needed for women's health education sessions.</li>
<li>Communicates and coordinates with hospitals for scheduling inductions and cesareans as needed.</li>
<li>Reviews labs and ultrasound reports and develops a plan of care when abnormal.</li>
<li>Prescribes medications to patients, including counseling patients regarding the proper use and contraindications of medications as well as detect and diagnose adverse drug reactions.</li>
<li>Evaluates medical charts to determine appropriate patient care follow up and education.</li>
<li>Accurately and completely charts information regarding patient interactions into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).</li>
<li>Works within and supports a team based and integrated care model, which includes medical assistants, other medical specialties, dental, behavioral health, patient navigation, and care coordination.</li>

Education and Experience:

Material and equipment directly used: Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, Microsoft Office Outlook, the internet and EHR. General medical equipment used for patient care.
 
Working environment/physical activities: Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters patient data into computer programs via use of EMR database system, mouse and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes and synthesizes information from others to assist in decision making.
 
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday; option for 4 day 10-hour shifts, or 5 day 8-hour shifts
 
We offer a competitive salary/hourly range of $108,000 - $125,000, depending on your experience.
This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.

Requirements
Education: Graduate of a professional nursing program required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of employment.

In accordance with the Tampa Family Health Center policies and procedures, the Certified Nurse Midwife works to provide quality Women’s Health Care to the patients of Tampa Family Health Centers. The position will work collaboratively with members of the nursing, medical staff, and other outside partners.
 
Essential Duties &amp; Functions 
• Provides care for patients in a patient centered mode, commensurate with training, experience, and clinic needs, to include well-woman visits, acute visits, family planning, etc.
• Participates in accreditation agency on-going readiness.
• Participates in Peer Review and all relevant Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement activities, as assigned.
• Provides clinical oversight and support as needed to nursing staff and medical assistants in
• collaboration with the other Women’s Health providers and Clinical Administration
• Engage with community partners, as needed.
• Provide evidence-based care for Obstetrical patients in an outpatient setting.
• Provide evidence based in-office gynecological care &amp; services: annual gyn visits, contraception, standard gyn complaints, perimenopausal &amp; menopausal care, insertion of LARC devices, colposcopy, gyn biopsies
• Maintains timely and accurate electronic health record documentation on all patients including office visits, telephone calls, and hospital admissions/visits, if applicable
• Prepares timely and accurate billing charges; completes and closes tasks within company policy
• Makes appropriate referrals to other health facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
• Supervision and teaching of residents, medical students, and other allied health professionals, as assigned
• May be required to work in multiple locations
• Participate in 24-hour telephone/afterhours coverage, if assigned or established.
• Coordinates and expedites clinical operations within the OB department.
• Works closely with Women’s Health providers and support staff.
• Utilizes a critical thinking approach to problem solve and make decisions.
• Identifies and evaluates operational clinical needs and resolves concerns 
• Follows all clinical protocols
• Communicate with patients and staff in a pleasant and courteous manner.
• Possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively across roles, teams and departments.
• Must exercise a high degree of professional judgment within the scope of licensure.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, &amp; Training
• MSN or DNP from an accredited School of Nursing 
• Certified by American Midwifery Certification Board 
• Current and unrestricted licensure by the State of Florida (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse)
• Current BLS certification required
 
Required Years of Experience 
 • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities 
• Bilingual a plus
• Demonstrates technological literacy in using computerized information systems.
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft office products and data entry.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Certified Nurse Midwife in collaboration with Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI), staff physicians, will provide primary care services to the patients of OHI that is consistent with established policies, procedures and protocols, the Joint Commission policies and procedures, OSHA standards, and other safety and health related codes and laws.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Performs complete health examination of perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum patients, including health history and physical examination, in accordance with protocols established by the Chief Medical Officer or designee.</li>
<li>Provides direct care for women in labor, including management of normal delivery.</li>
<li>Provides health instruction for women in all stages of life cycle.</li>
<li>Provides health examinations of inter-partum patients, especially those seeking advice concerning family planning and gynecological issues.</li>
<li>Provides patient/family education, health counseling, and health advocacy services to patients, their families and significant other.</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to establish patient care programs and policies.</li>

Education/Experience/Licensure:

<li>Active State of New Jersey RN and Advanced Practice Nurse License are required.</li>
<li>Active State of New Jersey CDS and DEA License to prescribe and maintain controlled substances are required.</li>
<li>Certification by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse is required.</li>
