GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Safe Haven for Children Program is a 24-hour shelter and transitional foster care program that serves unaccompanied children (UCs) in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Youth Care Worker AKA Child Care Worker is responsible for ensuring the minors are receiving appropriate nutrition, leisure, and recreational activities. They supervise the minors at all times, maintaining required supervision ratio and ensure all minors are accounted for.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Monitor and supervise young persons at all times.</li>
<li>Perform all duties of caring for children including ability and willingness to change diapers, conduct lice checks and treatment, and care for children with potentially communicable illnesses.</li>
<li>Assist in meal preparation for young persons, ensuring proper maintenance of food safety certifications.</li>
<li>Guide young persons on activities of daily living, including good personal hygiene or self- administering medication.</li>
<li>Arrange and accompany young persons to external appointments and recreational activities as assigned.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA and program confidentiality requirements.</li>

<li>Pick up young persons from airport or other transportation hubs and bring them to shelter.</li>
<li>Escort young persons from shelter to airport or domestic destination (fly-outs) to reunify with family or other approved sponsors throughout the U.S.</li>
<li>Arrange transportation for and escort minors to medical services, health screening, and mental health assessment of young persons.</li>
<li>Ensure that unit keys, tablets, and phones remain in the possession of staff members only.</li>
<li>Provide a stable, abuse- and drug-free environment.</li>
<li>Comply with all mandated training and certifications.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required by direct supervisor or needs of the program/agency.</li>
<li>On-call 24 hours (where applicable).</li>

About the Role
During a visit that can last up to one hour, Matrix providers review and observe a member’s current health, medical history, medication adherence, social environment and other risks. This provides unmatched insight into a member’s overall health and well-being that can be difficult to capture during routine office visits. The Matrix Comprehensive Health Assessment (CHA) helps to improve quality of care and allows us to potentially close multiple care gaps with a single visit. Our providers:
