Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

<li>Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.</li>
<li>ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required within six months of hire. </li>

Join our team in a dynamic 19-bed Emergency Room (ER) located on the 1st floor, with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, Nurse Externs, Paramedics, EMTs, MAs, CNAs, Phlebotomists, Pharmacists, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient care services, including cardiac, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, strokes trauma, bariatric accreditations, and offer the only Pediatric and PICU in Southern New Mexico. Job Description
1. Medication Administration
 a. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows SSH policies and procedures for administering, transcribing, and recording medications. b. Completes medication reconciliation process following SSH policy and procedure. c. Demonstrates proper procedure for the documentation of narcotic withdrawal, administration, verifies count, wastes per policy and resolves narcotic discrepancy. 2. Plan of care/Documentation/Patient Family Centered Care/Patient Experience Develops, discusses, and communicates a prioritized problem list/plan of care for each patient.
 a. Develop, evaluate and update individualized plan of care for patient and documents outcomes. b. Initiating admission assessment within 8 hours of admissions, identifies and documents patient/family/significant other teaching needs upon admission and throughout hospitalization. c. Continues assessment/reassessment and identifies care needs within established nursing practice. d. Documents all patient care following the department of nursing policy, unit based standards, disease processes (CHF, PNA vaccines) and nurse sensitive indicators (falls, skin, CAUTI) e. Assess/reassesses and documents patient's level of comfort utilizing the appropriate pain scale and the patient's response to each intervention both pharmacological and non-pharmacological per South Shore Hospital policy. f. Works on behalf of patient /family. Seeks help to represent patient/family when they are unable to represent themselves. g. Raises ethical questions and concerns with clinical team. Verifies patient identification with two identifiers prior to the start of any invasive procedure, including "time out", administration of care, medications, labeled specimen's an documents confirming the correct patient, procedure, site, equipment and consent. b. Complies with the current CDC hand hygiene guidelines through proper handwashing. Adheres to universal precautions, makes appropriate use of personal protective equipment at all times and appropriately disposes of hazardous materials. Maintains awareness of MSDS sheets and how to access. c. Ensures environment meets regulatory requirements at all times. d. Understands and is able to demonstrate individual roles and responsibilities in the event of hospital codes/emergency preparedness. 4. The EMS Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising field personnel, and ensuring compliance with company regulations in conjunction with the Director of Operations. This role serves as a direct liaison between field crews and upper management, addressing customer and patient complaints while providing technical assistance to service providers. The position emphasizes the use of advanced technology and equipment in delivering emergency and non-emergency medical services.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Supervise response teams, including paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). This includes instructing, assigning, and reviewing their work, maintaining standards, addressing employee issues, and handling assigned disciplinary cases.</li>
<li>Oversee Paramedics and EMTs as they respond to emergency calls, functioning as mobile medical unit attendants or drivers. Ensure that all duties comply with applicable state and federal laws, local ordinances, established policies, procedures, and protocols, and operate within the established chain of command. Refer to policy manuals as needed.</li>
<li>Be capable of performing all duties and skills outlined for a Paramedic.</li>
<li>Provide medical care at both Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support levels.</li>

<li>Respond to incidents involving multiple casualties following established disaster response plans. Recognize the need for hazardous material response personnel and request assistance as necessary, adhering to protocols for handling patients exposed to hazardous materials.</li>
<li>Maintain clear and concise communication with EMS personnel, hospital staff, and medical personnel using two-way radios or telephones. Establish rapport with family members of patients and bystanders.</li>
<li>Perform inspections and prepare reports and logs detailing observations, incidents, and treatments performed. Document any deviations from standard operating procedures, ensuring these deviations are in the best interest of the patient.</li>
<li>Operate the mobile medical unit in accordance with state law and established procedures for parking and backing at the scene of emergencies. Determine the shortest route to the scene and proceed accordingly. Inspect and test ambulances and their emergency equipment, completing logs and forms to ensure that everything is in proper working order and adequately stocked with supplies. Make minor adjustments as needed and report anything beyond minor defects for specialized attention.</li>
<li>Attend conferences, seminars, workshops, classes, and lectures as approved.</li>
<li>Research and stay updated on trends and developments in emergency medicine and emergency medical treatment. Complete coursework required to obtain and maintain certifications, and participate in departmental committees and/or professional organizations as appropriate.</li>
<li>Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance tasks at the Emergency Medical Services facility.</li>
<li>Assist in training new personnel.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>

Requirements:
