 Furniture Medic is looking for a self-motivated individual to perform restoration on all types of wood and fabric furniture with an emphasis in upholstery assembly and installation. This position also requires on site visits to both residential and commercial customers. We specialize in providing restoration services for the insurance and moving industries. We are a family friendly small business that understands the importance of work-life balance. Job Responsibilities: (listed in no certain order) 
<ul>

<li>Furniture upholstery repair and new install work as needed or directed. (includes but is not limited to all methods of upholstery application, spring and frame work, some basic sewing, foam repairs and lay-ups, frame re-glue work, recliner mech work, parts fabrication, pick-ups and deliveries, finish touch-up repairs, on-site repairs, after hours repairs)</li>
<li>Maintain shop stock and help order shop supplies as needed.</li>
<li>Manage a work flow with our seamstress.</li>
<li>Be willing and able to work in customers homes or businesses following Furniture Medics standards.</li>
<li>Set and keep consistent work hours.</li>
<li>The ability to lift and carry at least 75 to 80 pounds.</li>
<li>The ability to handle chemical smells and sanding dust.</li>
<li>Learn proper methods and uses of the power tools in the shop.</li>
<li>Learn the software called Service Fusion and maintain your schedule on the computer and / or on your personal device.</li>
<li>Customer communication as needed.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and neat uniform. Employee to provide their own work pants. Khaki or similar slacks preferred to jeans.</li>
<li>Maintain a good driving record.</li>
<li>Must submit to a back-ground check.</li>
<li>Manage workflow through the shop jobs without assistance from other Furniture Medic workers.</li>
<li>Other duties as needed by Furniture Medic.</li>

 Work Hours: 
<ul>
<li>40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional after hours works as needed.</li>
<li>Over-time as needed.</li>
<li>Furniture Medic will be the employer. </li>
</ul>
Compensation: 
<ul>
<li>Beginning hourly rate of $16 per hr.</li>
<li>We have a 30 day trial review at 30 days. At that time either party can terminate employment without questions.</li>
<li>At 90 days a performance review initiates full-time benefits of standard paid holidays, paid time off and a discussion of wage increase.</li>
<li>Yearly reviews are conducted at the start of each calendar year.</li>
<li>Pay Period is on the 1st and 15th of each month.</li>

Position Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

<li>Identify repair needed and follow standard operating procedures to repair based upon the need</li>
<li>Maintain inventory and stock levels for all repair furniture kits/tools</li>
<li>Repair upholstered products stitching, panel replacements mechanism/spring repair or replacements, frame repairs buttons, as well as other components</li>
<li>Repair wood products, burn ins, color matching, panel replacement, adjustment of drawers, doors, glides as well as other components</li>
<li>Perform daily tasks refurbishing furniture to 1st quality and the finishing of goods</li>

Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 2 years experience working with upholstery, an array of fabrics, wood furniture, leather and veneer finishes. Able to use necessary tools and equipment. Strong working knowledge of leather repairs, wood repairs including scratches, dents and splits. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Microsoft Office programs.

Position Hiring Range
The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.
