Overview
Shriners Children’s Portland is seeking a PRN Clinical Transformation Specialist (CTS). The CTS serves as the primary resource for providing advanced Clinical integration support at the local level. As a resource the Clinical Transformation Specialist provides ongoing user education and informatics support for various teams, committees and informatics projects throughout the facility. This position assists in providing facility vision and direction for implementations, workflow design, data management and related duties to support Shriners Children's Mission and Vision.
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Support clinical integration, operations, and achievement of clinical excellence related to Informatics</li>
<li>Supports the Clinical Analyst with development, delivery, communication and evaluation of staff education related to clinical systems</li>
<li>Utilizes expertise and understanding of all clinical applications to instruct and coach team members</li>
<li>Facilitates the two-way flow of communication for establishing and maintaining understanding between Information Systems and Clinical departments</li>

About the Role
The Informatics Specialist role provides a liaison between clinical workflows and information technology in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of clinical systems involved with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated technologies. The Informatics Specialist is responsible for workflow transformation, assessment, planning, design, re-design, validation, testing evaluation and end user training, implementation support, optimization, and adoption of clinical applications and processes. Focus is on being the advocate and change agent for facility leaders and clinicians to ensure maximum benefit for the EHR and its associated technologies. 
POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Works with PSN facility leadership, department managers, clinicians and physicians to facilitate problem-solving and ongoing communication </li>
<li>Assists with communicating system downtime to end users and serves as resource for activities associated with the downtime </li>

Description:
The Senior Clinical Analyst serves as a vital liaison between clinical staff and the IT Department, supporting the implementation, maintenance, training, and optimization of clinical information systems under the guidance of the Director of Applications. In system implementation projects, the Senior Clinical Analyst acts as both Project Manager and Application Builder, serving as the single point of contact for all project-related issues.
This role involves the development and maintenance of policies, creation of end-user training and educational materials, and the direct support of users such as Physicians, Radiologists, Nurses, and other hospital departments. The Senior Clinical Analyst collaborates closely with third-party vendors, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and end-user satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
The Senior Clinical Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all services are delivered professionally, accurately, and on time, with a focus on customer satisfaction and measurable outcomes. They will track and report on the completion rate of delegated projects, and are expected to manage the day-to-day operations of their assigned applications. This includes providing consultative support to non-technical users and effectively managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision
 
Requirements:

<li>Bachelor's degree in Health Infromation Systems, Computer Science, Nursing (BSN), or a related clinical or technical field required.</li>
<li>Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Health Infromation management, or Information Systems preferred.</li>
<li>Direct experience with clinical systems such as Meditech, Epic, Cerner, eMDs, or other EHR platforms.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Experience with data reporting tools and clinical analytics.</li>
<li>Must have strong organization and analytical skills. Clinical, technical writing, and business knowledge required of patient care.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.</li>
</ul>
 
Hours:
Minimum of a 40-hour work week. Rotating weekly call required. Flex schedules and shift work are possible during implementation.

This is a 9-month contract role beginning in December, with a high-impact scope focused on optimizing Epic systems to support virtual nursing practices.
Duties:

Partner with clinical and technical teams to design and implement Epic workflows that support virtual nursing initiatives.

<li>
Leverage Clin Doc and Orders tools to develop and optimize documentation and ordering workflows specific to remote nursing care.
</li>
<li>
Build, test, and deploy Epic solutions that align with nursing best practices and project goals.
</li>
<li>
Analyze clinical requirements and translate them into effective Epic system configurations.
</li>
<li>
Support go-live activities, user training, and post-implementation troubleshooting for virtual nursing workflows.

Collaborate with nursing leadership and informatics teams to ensure alignment with clinical standards and goals.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $160,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
