JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for reporting to and assisting the Construction Manager in performing professional construction administration work in the design, review, and management of assigned capital improvement construction projects. Areas include, but are not limited to, District buildings, park improvements, and other Civil discipline and vertical (facility) asset projects.
Position is also responsible for assisting the Construction Manager in the maintenance, planning and repairs of District assets, including but not limited to Fire Stations; items such as roofing, HVAC including chillers with remote controls, plumbing, electrical, pools, sports courts, flooring, paint, furniture, windows, fixtures (lighting and plumbing), restrooms, kitchens, stages, retractable doors, generators, audio systems, sidewalks, curbs, patios, parking lots, dumpster enclosures, fencing, janitorial, pressure washing, pest control, fire alarms, station “call-out” and suppression systems.
Establishment of effective daily communication and a mutually productive working relationship between other Departments and contractors is essential. Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, inspect work while achieving timely completion of projects is essential. Maintains and ensures contractual obligations are followed by all contractors while abiding by all state, local and federal laws required.

Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities:

<li>Managing and maintaining the project schedule from start to finish.</li>
<li>Working with the Project Manager, General Contractor, other trades, and suppliers to resolve issues/questions in a timely and cost-effective manner.</li>
<li>Adhering to plans specifications.</li>
<li>Reviewing all work for quality and accuracy.</li>
<li>Coordinating workers to meet the project schedule.</li>
<li>Reviewing and managing supplier deliveries.</li>
<li>Ensuring the cleanliness of site</li>
<li>Ensuring that all site activities comply with safety regulations and procedures.</li>
<li>The coordination of subcontractors (as needed)</li>
<li>Engaging in hands-on work to keep the project on schedule.</li>
<li>Reporting and tracking on-site changes and progress</li>
<li>Embracing teamwork with all trades to complete the project.</li>
<li>Must have current SST 62</li>

Requirements:

<li>5 years of superintendent/field manager experience in the HVAC or General Contracting</li>
<li>Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and on budget.</li>

<li>Must either live in Nassau, Western Suffolk, Within 5 Boroughs of NYC or Westchester</li>
