The Town of Falmouth is excited to open the search for a full-time Communications Officer (Police/Fire Dispatchers/911 Call-Takers) to work in our consolidated Police, Fire, and EMS Emergency Communications Center. Communications Officers work a schedule of 4 days on, 2 days off, on one of the following shifts, bid by seniority: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., or 11 p.m. – 7 a.m.
No experience required. New hires with no prior dispatch experience train at $29.67/hour (Step 1) for approximately 3 months, with an increase to $30.71/hour (Step 2) when cleared as shift strength, with room to annually advance along the 9-step pay scale. Overall Objectives of Position The Tribal Police Officer prevents crime and safeguards the peace and wellbeing of the Tribe, in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and State laws; and departmental rules and regulations. The rapid and efficient performance of specialized duties involving an element of personal danger is required. Responding to crimes, and emergencies may require the exercise of independent judgment without close supervision. The Tribal Police Officer is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs. The Tribal Police Officer is expected to live the Purpose and Values of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and will go beyond the call of duty. Primary Responsibilities of the Tribal Police Officer

<li>Enforcement of Tribal, Federal and State laws to include making arrests, writing reports, collecting information, talking with witnesses and victims, working accidents, providing escorts, assisting the public, and directing traffic, as needed.</li>
<li>Works closely with Investigators during criminal investigations and conducts follow-up on any crime.</li>
<li>Appears and testifies in Tribal, State and Federal Court.</li>
<li>Writes and files reports accurately and in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.</li>

Day-to-day Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Patrols the Reservation, adjacent community, and/or other Tribal properties; to preserve law and order, to prevent and discover the commission of crimes, and to investigate suspicious circumstances.</li>
<li>Responds to calls and complaints.</li>
<li>Serves warrants of arrest and civil process.</li>
<li>Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, and locates witnesses, and/or make arrests at the scenes of crimes or accidents as necessary.</li>

Education/License/Certification and Experience Requirements

<li>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Two (2) years of employment experience as a certified police officer required.</li>
<li>Must possess an Alabama Peace Officer Commission certification for law enforcement.</li>
<li>Must obtain BIA Special Law Enforcement Commission (S.L.E.C.) within twelve (12) months of date of hire.</li>
<li>Must obtain other related commissions as identified and required after official date of hire in this position.</li>

Summary: 
The City of Decatur Police Department provides police protection through proactive patrolling, crime prevention, and investigation programs. The Police Officer protects life and property and enforces laws and ordinances. Work involves routine patrol that includes responding to emergency calls, citizen complaints, and alarms. Duties include preliminary investigations, special detail assignments, administrative duties, and other related tasks. 
Major Responsibilities:
