The Position: The Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (Provost &amp; VPAA/SA) provides vital, creative, and adaptable leadership to the academic enterprise at Southern Oregon University (SOU). This position plays a key role in institutional planning and strategy, in forging community partnerships, and in advancing SOU’s presence in the region, state, and nation. The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA has a significant duty in representing SOU to the Southern Oregon University Board of Trustees, engaging with the Oregon Provosts Council, and participating in the Oregon Council of Presidents. This person is responsible for articulating a vision and direction for Academic and Student Affairs and effectively communicating that vision to the campus community. The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA reports directly to the president and collaborates with the other vice presidents to execute the president's leadership agenda. This position is also responsible for managing the operations of the university in the president’s absence.
The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA oversees all of the academic schools at SOU and the services that support them, as well as the university’s portfolio of student support and success services. This leader is responsible for guiding academic and enrollment planning and shaping the student body through an institutional strategy for recruitment, admission, retention, advising and educational partnerships. Effective performance requires an in-depth understanding of the university’s mission and its various programs, and a commitment to work effectively within a shared decision-making environment (i.e., Faculty Senate, Staff Assembly, and the faculty union). A high level of collaboration, commitment to service excellence, and exceptional listening and communication skills are critical.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Lead Academic Affairs, establish and communicate a strong academic vision while promoting a culture of shared governance (40%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA is the Chief Academic Officer of SOU and provides leadership and robust support for the faculty, academic schools, and the library at SOU. Duties include, but are not limited to: support and promote teaching, scholarship, and community engagement activities; administer contracts; supervise and evaluate the academic directors and faculty personnel roster; launch faculty development programs; assess recruitment and hiring priorities; oversee the promotion and tenure process, faculty appointments, merit salary increases, and sabbatical leaves; respond to faculty grievances; support program review and assessment of the learning enterprise; guide various programs including instructional services, off-campus and continuing education programs, summer session, inter-institutional programs, various galleries and collections, and all that is necessary to support coursework, research, and intellectual exploration associated with the university’s intellectual life; give direction to research, grants and sponsored programs, and other creative endeavors; maintain effective channels of communication with the President, faculty, and Faculty Senate; serve as strategist in the faculty collective bargaining enterprise; and create a culture of collective ownership and accountability while collaborating on decision-making processes quickly and effectively.</li>
<li>Lead Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (25%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA is the Chief Enrollment Officer responsible for the executive leadership, strategic planning, and administrative oversight for all operations and support functions associated with the recruitment, retention, and engagement of students. Duties include, but are not limited to: foster creative thinking that builds on SOU’s strong tradition as a student-centered institution; guide strategic efforts to address issues related to student development, health and wellness, success, equity, and retention; address issues related to the review, implementation, improvement, and enhancement of policies, procedures, and program-specific services; and oversee Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Admissions and Recruitment to ensure efficiency in operations that drive enrollment growth that aligns with institutional goals.</li>
<li>External Outreach (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA partners with the president to implement SOU’s mission, vision, core values, and strategic directions in a manner that realizes growth that enhances student learning opportunities and positively impacts financial and economic development. This position develops and cultivates public-private partnerships with local, regional, and statewide business and industry.</li>
<li>Accreditation (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA administers activities related to the accreditation and the external review of SOU and its schools, departments, and programs. This position ensures compliance with various academic disciplines and their respective accreditation agencies.</li>
<li>Budget &amp; Resources (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA designs effective budget models for Academic and Student Affairs. This position analyzes financial information to include revenues and expenditures to ensure all operations are within budget; develops long-range planning and budget priorities; and provides supervision, evaluation and professional development for administrative and support staff.</li>
<li>Other Duties as Assigned (5%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA performs other duties as assigned by the president, including but not limited to: participating or leading ad hoc and standing working and advisory committees; serving on search committees; and representing SOU at functions, panels, and events.</li>

Qualifications: Minimum:

<li>Ph.D. or other terminal degree with a record of teaching and scholarship suitable for a tenured faculty appointment.</li>
<li>At least five years of successful leadership in a senior level position with academic administration, program development, budgeting, and personnel management experience.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and communication skills.</li>
<li>Proven record of a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and experience with institutional EDI goals and efforts.</li>

The Department of Biology at California State University San Bernardino invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology with research expertise in organismal plant biology with an emphasis on structure and function to begin August 2024. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Biology has 17 tenure-track/tenured faculty with a variety of research interests, as well as lecturers and technicians who provide pivotal support. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The department has facilities for 3D printing, cell culture and stem cell research, animal care, and plant growth. The CSUSB herbarium hosts a small collection (about 4,000 specimens) of mostly local flora. In addition, the department has access to the College of Natural Science’s Electron Microscope and Image Analysis Center (EMIAC). The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean and CEPS Administrative team on planning and implementing college strategic initiatives. This includes supporting CEPS administrative leaders in equity-focused program assessment and accreditation, culturally responsive curriculum and program development, cultivation of business and community partnerships, and strategic management of course offerings and scheduling for the college. The Associate Dean also has an important role in facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures related to the college and the university. The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;

Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Education and Professional Studies. A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CEPS’s academic departments. Associate Dean, College of Education & Professional Studies (CEPS)

PHI’s Senior Workforce Intervention Specialist works to improve job quality for direct care workers by contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of PHI’s practice-based employment and training models. As a part of PHI’s Workforce Innovations Team (WIT), they will specialize in leading engagements related to operationalizing and evaluating meaningful advancement opportunities that expand the direct care career ladder; additionally, they may support programs aimed at strengthening recruitment and retention practices, creating a coaching culture, developing adult-learner centered training, and assessing direct care job quality. Outstanding skills in critical thinking, proactive leadership, written and verbal communication, relationship building, and workforce and organizational development are essential for success in this role. &nbsp;
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Lead the implementation of PHI practice-based job quality interventions, including creating and maintaining work plans and timelines, managing partner relationships, executing project activities, and reporting progress to PHI’s Vice President of Workforce Innovations through verbal and written communication.</li>
<li>Build and manage relationships with numerous strategic workforce partners – including long-term care employers, payors, advocates, and others - to support collaboration and the successful integration of job quality practices.</li>
<li>Provide technical assistance and consulting to project-based partners to support program design, implementation, and evaluation; this will include intensive, hands-on support to project partners to assess and modify organizational practices in support of implementing and maintaining workplace environments conducive to high-quality direct care jobs.</li>
<li>Routinely meet programmatic deadlines and proactively communicate impediments to the Vice President of Workforce Innovations.</li>
<li>Produce high-quality project deliverables in line with PHI and WIT acceptance criteria including PowerPoint slide deck presentations, external and internal reports, project worksheets, assessment tools, workflows, and other items as needed to meet project goals.</li>
<li>Plan, facilitate, and document meetings, informational sessions, webinars and other interactions with external partners; this could include coordinating planning with WIT and other PHI staff members, sending meeting invitations and conferencing information to attendees, creating and disseminating agendas, facilitation, documenting and archiving associated notes, and establishing next steps.</li>
<li>Collaborate with WIT staff to coordinate team roles, optimize efficiency, and meet project goals.</li>

Purpose: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Santa Clara University is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor beginning fall 2024. Santa Clara University is a highly ranked Jesuit, Catholic university with an ACS-approved undergraduate program and is located in the Silicon Valley. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the ability to teach chemistry effectively to a diverse student body, establish an externally funded and productive undergraduate research program in computational &nbsp;chemistry, computational biochemistry, or cheminformatics (broadly defined), contribute to departmental research and teaching objectives, and participate in service-related activities. &nbsp;We encourage applications from scientists who will establish an active research program involving undergraduate students in predictive modeling, quantum chemistry, molecular simulations, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and/or big data analytics as applied to complex (bio)chemical problems. Responsibilities Tenure track faculty at SCU are teaching scholars who are expected to balance teaching, research and service. This is an in-person position. More specifically, duties include but are not limited to:
TEACHING 1. Teach lower- and upper-division courses in the major and university core curriculum, as assigned by the chair and subdisciplinary expertise. &nbsp;SCU is on the quarter system and a typical load is two courses per quarter. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: a. This position acts as the central point of contact for all La Casa-related activities and programming, partnering with internal departments, faculty, student leaders, and external organizations to create meaningful and mission-aligned experiences. The Director will manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, grant compliance, and program delivery, while ensuring strong communication across campus stakeholders and external partners. In addition, the Director will oversee the Crear Futuros program, a mentorship and college success initiative sponsored by the Hispanic Federation, ensuring its alignment with La Casa’s mission and its successful implementation on campus.
