The Director of Government Affairs leads the college’s engagement with local, state, and federal government officials and agencies. The Director is responsible for advancing institutional priorities and securing funding through legislative advocacy, policy analysis, and strategic coordination with elected officials. The Director will oversee the Government Relations manager and ensure alignment of advocacy efforts with the college's mission and strategic plan.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities&nbsp;

Key responsibilities:

<ul>
<li>Provide administrative support for Mill Manager and HR Team.</li>
<li>Answer incoming phone calls; greet guests; assist co-workers with requests for information; maintain an organized filing system in soft or hard format as necessary; prepare and distribute departmental reports.</li>
<li>Make travel arrangements as necessary including coordinating flight, ground transportation, hotel reservations, tracking reservation changes, and providing accurate figures for expense reporting.</li>
<li>Provide support for meetings such as room reservations, meals, and meeting equipment.</li>
<li>Assist with on demand tasks, presentations and projects.</li>
<li>Assist mailroom with receiving, sorting, and delivering all incoming/outgoing correspondence (mail, FedEx).</li>
<li>Assist with scheduling interviews and onsite interviews.</li>
<li>Assist with new employees, department staffing changes, and arranging for necessary work items (computer, office space, business cards, supplies.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate established Human Resources-related programs and activities, such as service awards, Mill events, community events, and donations requests.</li>
</ul>
Basic Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelors degree in Human Resources (or closely related field) from a four year college or university</li>
<li>2 to 5 years experience preferred</li>
<li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</li>
<li>Previous work experience as a member of a team and a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.</li>
<li>Ability to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.</li>
<li>Previous industrial experience preferred</li>
</ul>
