Under the direction of the Dean or Chair of the department, this&nbsp;Assistant Professor is expected to teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in the discipline area of study.&nbsp;Additional duties may include evaluating and assessing student learning;&nbsp;providing student support and academic advising;&nbsp;planning and executing program-related events;&nbsp;assisting with program reviews;&nbsp;developing curriculum&nbsp;and periodically evaluating teaching materials; and&nbsp;attending workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field. The teaching schedule may include both day and evening classes.&nbsp;Course delivery systems may be lecture, hybrid, and/or online.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of&nbsp;attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies;&nbsp;service on assigned committees and task forces;&nbsp;and attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings.&nbsp; These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursingor a related discipline.&nbsp;Active R.N. licensure in Connecticut.
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
<ul>
<li>Four (4) years college teaching experience (96+ credits);&nbsp;OR</li>
<li>Two (2) years’ college teaching experience (48+ credits) with four (4) or more years (Fulltime Equivalency) of clinical nursing experience.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills&nbsp;along with strong&nbsp;Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Experience teaching Pharmacology, Fundamentals of Nursing, Maternal Child Nursing, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Well Child Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and/or Professional Development.</li>
<li>APRN, D.N.P., Ed.D. or Ph. D. in Nursing or closely related field.</li>
<li>Experience with accreditation processes and standards, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards and criteria.</li>
<li>Established relationship with local healthcare facilities for potential clinical partnerships.</li>
<li>Experience in developing and implementing innovative nursing education strategies.</li>
<li>Bilingual in Spanish/English.</li>

Starting Salary:
Minimum Salary; $75,362 approximate annual&nbsp;plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.&nbsp;The salary will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
