 Overview:
Perform direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced life support according to the goals of Mercy Health System.the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Field Supervisors also perform clerical, maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and Paramedic students. Also supervisor EMTs and Paramedics indaily routine and pre-hospital care setting. Field Supervisor make operationaldecisions in the absence of Manager-Regional EMS or Supervisor-Operations and instruct EMT and Paramedic on inservice training, education and driving. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into his/get style of management, the MercyPhilosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues inthe area over which he/she has responsibility. Performs related duties as assigned.
 Qualifications:

<li>Education: None.</li>
<li>Licensure: Paramedic (EMT-P license for the state of practice, valid drivers license.</li>
<li>Experience: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age</li>
<li>Certifications/Registration: Hazmat awareness level training, ACLS at hire, PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.</li>
<li>Other:
<ul>
<li>Maybe required to work differing shifts and schedules. Unimpaired mobility. </li>
<li>Must be able to respond quickly to ambulance, must be able to access patients in difficult terrain, must be able to climb stairs, must be able to work in close and dangerous environments such as damaged vehicles, must be able with partner to carry equipment and patients. </li>
<li>Must be able to perform strenuous physical requirements such as CPR, lifting and moving of equipment and patients in avariety of environmental conditions. </li>
<li>Must be able to perform required medical skills and techniques. </li>
<li>Must have correctable vision acceptable for day and night operation of emergency vehicles, must have color acuity adequate for determination of skin and blood color, must be able to read medication dosages on drug labels and syringes. </li>
<li>Must be able to hear and understand information provided by patients, family or bystanders; must be able to hear breath sounds and accurately determine auscultated blood pressures; must be able to differentiate separate conversations in active, distracting environments; must beable to hear and understand radio traffic when responding with lights and sirens. </li>
<li>Must be able to speak and enunciate clearly and at a level audible to others in loud conditions, must be able to speak clearly in stressful situations, must be able to verbally communicate with patients, families and other emergency service personnel. </li>
<li>Incumbents will be required to successfully satisfy the physical demands of the role. This will include a pre-hire and annual fitness for duty test.</li>

<li>Equipment Used: Mobile and portable communications equipment, Monitor/Defibrillator/Pacer, approved stretcher, stair chair, backboard, scoop type device, variety of bags and kits, assigned ambulance, computer, FAX, printer and other office related equipment.</li>
<li>Preferred Education:Associates Degree or equivalent experience. </li>
<li>Preferred Licensure: TLS Provider</li>
<li>Preferred Experience: Emergency Services or related Leadership experience, 3 years Paramedic experience, teaching experience.</li>
<li>Preferred Certifications/Registration: NIMS 300 and 400.</li>

Description:
The Onsite Medical Representative will serve as the site’s designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and implementing the Safety Program. The OMR will provide first aid care to injured employees, actively analyze tasks for potential safety issues, participate in the Workers’ Compensation process, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management. The OMR will function as a part of the larger onsite safety team, helping to provide assistance with all health and safety needs. This includes attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site, either within a group setting at New Hire Orientation or through one-on-one interaction. The OMR will also participate, as needed, in incident investigations and weekly case management review meetings.
Responsibilities:
· Provide triage, first-aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers, if indicated.
· Maintain all records of care provided to associates.
· Maintain first-aid kits, inventory supplies, restock and clean equipment used to provide first aid care.
· Provide accommodation recommendations related to job placement for all employees on restrictions given by a medical provider.
· Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and leadership team. Provide analysis of all onsite incidents on a monthly basis including recommendations on how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries within the warehouse.
· Frequent “floor time” to interact with both associates and managers, providing coaching on observed at-risk work habits. Attend and speak at daily “start-up” meetings.
· Understand and learn each department and job function within the warehouse to fully understand the body mechanics involved in every task. Be actively involved with improvements to the standard work process.
· Initiate and maintain Workers’ Compensation cases when applicable.
· Update the communication board with health and safety tips for the building.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
· Ability to communicate health and safety needs to all levels of the organization.
· Ability to maintain composure in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
· Valid State EMT-Basic Certification from the Department of Health from the state you are working in AND/OR valid National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification
· 1 year+ experience providing emergency services in a pre-hospital setting
· Valid CPR certification at the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider level (American Heart Association) or Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Must be able to work flexible shifts which could include days, nights, and/or weekends
· Ability to maintain all medical credentials
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Certified to teach First-Aid, CPR and AED
· Experience leading and managing a team
· Experience with OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
· Experience with Workers’ Compensation

<li>ACLS, PALS and TNCC are required within six months of hire. </li>
<li>One year of experience in acute care preferred.</li>

Join our team in a dynamic 19-bed Emergency Room (ER) located on the 1st floor, with a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. Our diverse staff includes RNs, Nurse Externs, Paramedics, EMTs, MAs, CNAs, Phlebotomists, Pharmacists, and Providers, creating a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional care. Known for our wide variety of patient care services, including cardiac, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, strokes trauma, bariatric accreditations, and offer the only Pediatric and PICU in Southern New Mexico. With an average daily volume of approximately 108 patients, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care while working alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced setting.
