About the Role
As a Technical Writer, you will play a key role in developing clear, accurate, and well-organized documentation to support the Technical Operations teams at our Columbus facility.
In this cross-functional role, you'll partner with subject matter experts and fellow technical writers to create critical procedural documents that are both effective and compliant—ensuring alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory standards (e.g., FDA), and internal quality requirements.
What You'll Do

Position Summary:
Contiem's Technical Writers create documentation and processes for multiple verticals. This is a position that works on multiple kinds of projects and enjoys learning new things. The ideal candidate background includes 3+ years of experience working as a Technical Writer.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Take a big-picture view of large amounts of content, determining the content information model and the best way to simplify the authoring process for this content.</li>
<li>Interface with clients and take initiative to gather information, including using existing resources, researching, calling Subject Matter Experts (SME), and utilizing software applications to obtain information and screenshots.</li>
<li>Develop client documentation for a variety of products and industries.</li>
<li>Ensure that documents are accurate and follow the clearly defined standards.</li>
<li>Coordinate with SMEs Project Managers, and the writing team to ensure that the right information is getting to the right people and that the documentation produced is accurate and follows clearly defined standards.</li>
<li>Be detail-oriented and understand the best practices principles of good technical writing.</li>
</ul>

<li>U.S. citizenship.</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in technical writing, journalism, communications, or a related field.</li>
<li>5-7 years of experience in technical writing, with technical writing being your primary job function.</li>
<li>Experience in researching and gathering relevant technical data from subject matter experts.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and general business communication skills.</li>
<li>Experience working independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.</li>

The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing, rewriting, and editing technical documents, procedural, user programming, and technical, operation and maintenance manuals.

Major duties include:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the research and preparation of technical, user, procedures, and other supporting documents.</li>
<li>Prepare Logistics Documentation such as: Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Prepare Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Logistics Maintenance Data (LMD) Reports.</li>
<li>Compile complex technical manuals by researching, writing, editing, and proofreading materials.</li>
<li>Write, rewrite, and edit technical, operational and maintenance manuals to ensure operational specifications, technical information, and service manuals are clearly and effectively communicated.</li>

Job Requirements:

<li>Bachelor’s degree in English, technical communication, or a related scientific or engineering discipline is preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of five years’ experience in logistics technical writing for chemical and biological defense systems.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external staff members, and to work independently.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, with a positive attitude.</li>
