STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE:

2. Ensures that educational lessons activities, programs, and curriculum are functional and age appropriate to promote achievement of each student’s desired outcomes.
3. Supervises classroom paraprofessionals to ensure proper implementation of programs, schedules, and activities.
4. Ensures that classroom paraprofessionals complete the required daily documentation for each student.
5. Completes required reports and other documentation accurately and promptly.
6. Utilizes appropriate materials, devices, and equipment necessary for educational activities.
7. Exhibits classroom management skills that foster a positive, professional atmosphere that is educationally stimulating for students.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of clients, as outlined in the Agency Policy/Procedures.
2. Assumes responsibility for assuring compliance of client rights and program delivery as defined in the Illinois Department of Mental Health Code and the Confidentiality Act, as well as the Child Care Act of the Department of Children and Family Services.
3. Attends required training.

<li>Assist with classroom preparation and activities of children as directed by Center Director. </li>
<li>Assist with maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for children. </li>
<li>Participate in and assist during meal and snack time following family style meal services and guiding children in clean-up afterwards. </li>
<li>Assist with daily cleaning of center facilities and preparation of classroom materials. </li>
<li>Provide a positive image to co-workers and the community by being supportive of the agency's mission, vision and goals. </li>
<li>Work effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and those with disabilities and special needs. </li>
<li>Continue professional growth by participating in classes, training programs, workshops/conferences, as needed and required and/or allowed within the agency’s budget. </li>
<li>Ensure confidentiality of agency and family information assigned to position. </li>
<li>Report to work at scheduled time and maintain good attendance and availability. </li>
<li>Perform all duties in a safe, timely and professional manner. </li>
<li>Actively participate in all program activities with a positive attitude and behavior.</li>
<li>Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor(s). </li>
</ul>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education: High School Diploma/GED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the above minimum qualifications) 3-6 months of working with children 0 to 5 year old’s.
