This role requires expert-level understanding of EM principles, strong training program development skills, policy drafting and coordination experience, and analytical capabilities to maintain and report on EM program metrics. The Career &amp; Job Placement Specialist / Case Manager is a dynamic role combining job placement services, career coaching, case management, and group training facilitation for young adults in underserved communities. This position helps participants prepare for and secure meaningful employment while connecting them to resources and employer networks. 
This role requires a startup mentality someone ready to dive in, roll up their sleeves, and take on whatever is thrown their way. You'll facilitate group training sessions using our proprietary technology platform, manage participant records in CalJOBS, and achieve specific performance metrics within designated timeframes. Strong organizational skills, excellent group facilitation abilities, and relationship-building are essential. 
This position is a hybrid remote role and needs to be able to drive to in-person training when required. 
Key Responsibilities
Job Placement &amp; Employer Engagement
<ul>
<li>Actively place participants into quality jobs by leveraging employer relationships and building new partnerships</li>
<li>Provide coaching on resume development, job readiness, application processes, and interview preparation</li>
<li>Maintain regular contact with employers to track placement success and gather feedback</li>
<li>Meet or exceed monthly job placement targets and performance metrics </li>
</ul>
Group Training &amp; Case Management
<ul>
<li>Facilitate group training sessions for cohorts of 15-30 participants using our technology platform</li>
<li>Serve as primary case manager for assigned caseload</li>
<li>Deliver engaging workshops on job readiness, soft skills, and career development</li>
<li>Provide individualized support including career coaching, follow-up/job retention assistance, and connecting participants with supportive services (transportation assistance, emergency cash aid, work tools, program fee support, etc.)</li>
<li>Conduct regular check-ins and assessments to track participant progress </li>
</ul>
CalJOBS &amp; Data Management
<ul>
<li>Create and maintain participant accounts in CalJOBS with registration and eligibility documentation</li>
<li>Enter activity codes, case notes, measurable skill gains (MSG), credential attainment, and other required data promptly and accurately</li>
<li>Keep detailed participant case files in both CalJOBS and internal tracking systems</li>
<li>Generate reports and track outcomes to monitor program effectiveness</li>
<li>Maintain data entry accuracy standards and meet all documentation deadlines </li>
</ul>
Performance &amp; Metrics Management
<ul>
<li>Achieve monthly/quarterly targets for job placements, training completion rates, and participant engagement</li>
<li>Track and report on key performance indicators including placement rates, wage outcomes, and retention rates</li>
<li>Continuously analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities </li>
</ul>
Additional Responsibilities (Startup Environment)
<ul>
<li>Flexibly respond to changing program needs and take on additional responsibilities as they arise</li>
<li>Refer participants to partner organizations and local community resources</li>
<li>Coordinate with community partners, educational institutions, and employers</li>
<li>Adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and service delivery models </li>

Qualifications
Required:
<ul>
<li>Must be based in Los Angeles County, California</li>
<li>Experience facilitating groups/training sessions with 15+ participants</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to meet performance metrics and work within tight deadlines</li>
<li>Startup mentality: adaptable, resourceful, willing to take on diverse responsibilities</li>
<li>Associate/Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, workforce development, or related field; or equivalent experience</li>
<li>12 years of experience in workforce development, job placement, case management, or related services</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Strong organizational and record-keeping skills</li>

To apply a patient-centered approach while performing treatments, making patient assessments, and all other aspects of patient care. This role will promote learning and growth as an emergency veterinary technician, providing opportunities for advancement towards a Veterinary Technician Specialist certification and participating in the coordination of care. Administer, monitor, and maintain patients under general anesthesia with or without mechanical ventilation for patients with varied levels of risk.

Perform advanced vascular access techniques including jugular catheter placement, sampling line placement, central line placement, intraosseous catheterization, and arterial catheterization.

Perform advanced diagnostic techniques including ultrasonography and paracentesis,

Participate in formulating treatment, anesthetic, and nursing care plans.

Conduct treatments using clinical decision-making skills according to protocolized plans.

Aid in managing patient care workload to ensure the patients are receiving uncompromised care.

Coach and guide veterinary assistants and credentialed veterinary technicians to perform clinical tasks to maintain standards of care and encourage growth.

Obtain additional training along guided growth pathways offering roles in addition to direct nursing care such as VTS certification, trainer role, coordination of care, community outreach, and leadership.

WHAT YOU NEED

High school diploma or equivalent
</li>
<li>
Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the location of the VEG practice.
</li>
<li>
Veterinary technician specialist (VTS) certification will receive additional considerations in practice role and compensation.

<li>
Basic computer skills to use practice management, electronic medical record, and collaboration software.
</li>
<li>
1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role. Experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
</li>
<li>
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and electronic) with the team and with customers
</li>
<li>
Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment necessary daily such as syringes, electric clippers, computers, surgery instruments, monitors, diagnostic equipment, etc.

Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance.
