Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. 
 
Responsibilities

<li>Conducts routine and emergency medical care for inmates, including chronic care clinics, infirmary rounds, and emergency treatment on-site. </li>
<li>Adheres to established policies and procedures for medical care, including documentation in SOAP format, adherence to formulary regimens, and utilizing available in-house resources for treatment. </li>
<li>Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, while also reporting any concerns or questions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator. </li>
<li>Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with accepted practices for incarcerated individuals. </li>

Qualifications
Education 
<ul>
<li>A graduate of an accredited school of nursing </li>

Experience

<li>Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred. </li>
<li>Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate patient population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment. </li>
<li>Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage. </li>

You will:&nbsp;&nbsp;

Provide Primary and Family evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Provide administrative duties to include but not limited to opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow up, verifying insurance and collecting payment, maintaining a clean environment.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>

Be responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routing examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>

Perform duties including speaking with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care.&nbsp;

Encourage patients to become active participants in their own healthcare and well-being through services such as health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, chronic condition management.&nbsp;

Required Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
A minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Experience in Family medicine or primary care practice preferred.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Active Family Nurse practitioner license in good standing&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Provide holistic, evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients. This includes education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted infection (STI) Prevention and safer sex practices.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Order and administer immunizations and injections (to include but not limited to COVID19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provides evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Basic Live support (BLS) certification, including but not limited to performing CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
Education:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
EPIC experience preferred.&nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$87,035.00 - $187,460.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. &nbsp;The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. &nbsp;This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.&nbsp; &nbsp;
