The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an OB/GYN setting and will be comfortable managing their own patient panel. This role is integral to our practice, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care within our OB/GYN services. Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

<li>Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent body, Certification as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)</li>
<li>A minimum of one year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), with specific experience in Women’s Health and OB/GYN settings.</li>
<li>Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (ACLS may be required in some areas).</li>

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Certified Nurse Midwife in collaboration with Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI), staff physicians, will provide primary care services to the patients of OHI that is consistent with established policies, procedures and protocols, the Joint Commission policies and procedures, OSHA standards, and other safety and health related codes and laws.
Responsibilities:

<li>Performs complete health examination of perinatal, prenatal, and postpartum patients, including health history and physical examination, in accordance with protocols established by the Chief Medical Officer or designee.</li>
<li>Provides direct care for women in labor, including management of normal delivery.</li>
<li>Provides health instruction for women in all stages of life cycle.</li>
<li>Provides health examinations of inter-partum patients, especially those seeking advice concerning family planning and gynecological issues.</li>
<li>Provides patient/family education, health counseling, and health advocacy services to patients, their families and significant other.</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to establish patient care programs and policies.</li>
<li>Participates in OB/GYN call schedule as directed.</li>
<li>Orders appropriate laboratory studies and referrals, interprets the results of laboratory tests and follow-up of abnormal lab reports.</li>
