JOB SUMMARY This position begins at the start of the Summer 2025 Alaska Season. The Pastry Chef is responsible for all baking, preparation, and presentation of breads, pastries, and desserts along with plate-up of meals, assisting Galley Utility if needed, and galley cleaning as assigned.&nbsp;The Pastry Chef will also (rarely but when required) assist the galley team with preparing crew meals and preparing savory items. When working a night baker position will need to wash all their own dishes, pots, and pans. QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

<li>Mobility- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, crawling, and pushing/pulling.&nbsp; Must ascend and descend stairs and ladders, sometimes while carrying tools or objects. Able to stand or sit for long periods of time.</li>
<li>Handling/Strength- Able to handle, lift, and lower objects totaling 50 pounds between the ground/deck level to a height of about 4 to 6 feet, and able to repeat these movements.&nbsp; Able to carry these objects up to 100 feet continuously for 20 minutes.</li>
<li>Environmental Conditions- Able to work in all weather conditions, around loud noise, in small spaces, and fit through a 28-inch-wide hatch.</li>

We are looking for an experienced pastry chef for a newly opened restaurant/patisserie in the heart of Glendale CA. We are a full-time restaurant with a specialization in pastry art and serving delicate desserts both for in-house and to-go options.
Responsibilities:&nbsp;
Menu Planning and Development: - Develop and create new pastry and dessert items that align with the restaurant's theme and customer preferences. - Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to ensure dessert offerings complement the overall menu.
Preparation and Production: - Prepare a wide variety of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods according to recipes or special requests. - Ensure all pastry and baked items are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
Presentation: - Plate desserts and pastries in an attractive and appealing manner. - Ensure all items leaving the kitchen are visually appealing and meet presentation guidelines.
Kitchen Operations: - Manage inventory and stock control of pastry ingredients and supplies. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and equipment. - Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment. - Extensive knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, ingredients, and recipes. - Creativity and passion for pastry and dessert preparation. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work efficiently under pressure. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Formal culinary training or degree in Culinary Arts is a plus.
