VP of Mission Advancement

The Chief of Endocrinology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the&nbsp;Division. The Division Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and&nbsp;oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division. The Chief of Endocrinology&nbsp;will have financial authority over the division&nbsp; budget, including extramural research and&nbsp;philanthropic funding received and other financial matters for the division, in accordance with&nbsp;applicable University policies and practices. The Chief of Endocrinology will have discretion in&nbsp;the recruitment and retention of division faculty who will have a direct reporting line. Qualified&nbsp;candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) or equivalent degree&nbsp;from an accredited institution and be eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at&nbsp;the Associate or Full Professor rank. The Chief of Endocrinology will also play a prominent role in&nbsp;the establishment of a Diabetes Research Center with the support of an ongoing University of&nbsp;Arizona (UA) capital campaign and the continued development of an NIH - T32 training program in&nbsp;diabetes, endocrine, and metabolism.
The Endocrinology division is one of twelve within the Department of Medicine, which leads the&nbsp;University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Tucson in research funding, and has two residency&nbsp;programs, 15 fellowship programs including endocrinology, and numerous mentorship opportunities in&nbsp;multidisciplinary health science graduate programs. The College anchors the University of Arizona&nbsp;Health Sciences (UAHS) campus, which also houses the UA Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy, and&nbsp;Nursing, as well as multiple research Centers of Excellence, and includes a research partnership&nbsp;with the Veterans Affairs (VA) Tucson Medical Center, which serves all Southern Arizona. Duties &amp; Responsibilities:

<li>Provide leadership and management of day-to-day operations of the Division of Endocrinology.</li>
<li>Responsible for recruitment, management, compensation, and retention of faculty in consideration of&nbsp;UA, UHSC, College, and B—UMG strategic plans and initiatives in balance of the multiple, tripartite&nbsp;mission of the University.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Academic Affairs and other educational offices at the College to ensure the&nbsp;division and their faculty are advancing the mission of the medical student, graduate student, and&nbsp;graduate medical education teaching programs.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining liaison with other clinical and/or basic science departments to foster&nbsp;an integrated teaching environment for the College.</li>
<li>Has the responsibility to support and expand research activities within the division, and across&nbsp;the Department, College and UAHS, working with key partners.</li>
<li>Provide leadership oversight and effective management of an active program of independent,&nbsp;extramurally funded basic, translational or clinical research in area of research&nbsp;expertise/specialization.</li>

Requirements

Course description:&nbsp;Gross and Developmental Anatomy focuses on the gross structure of organs and their function, and through clinical correlations, relates each to clinical medicine.&nbsp; An Anatomical Learning Resource Center has been established to utilize computer-based instruction, anatomical models, radiographic materials as well as supervised laboratory sessions dissecting various parts of the human body.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Students study the structure and function of all organs with some interaction with cellular structure.&nbsp; This course incorporates an understanding of how embryological processes give rise to the mature body form.&nbsp; When this course is complete, each student will have extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy and development of the entire human body as it relates clinically to the practice of medicine.

The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean and CEPS Administrative team on planning and implementing college strategic initiatives. This includes supporting CEPS administrative leaders in equity-focused program assessment and accreditation, culturally responsive curriculum and program development, cultivation of business and community partnerships, and strategic management of course offerings and scheduling for the college. The Associate Dean also has an important role in facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures related to the college and the university. The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;
Job Duties Support for the Dean: -&nbsp;Collaborate with the Dean on planning college strategic initiatives, participate in college fundraising, and coordinate implementation of CEPS strategic priorities. -&nbsp;Provide CEPS administrative leaders support in areas of culturally responsive curriculum development, equity-focused institutional assessment and improvement, human resource management, faculty/staff development and performance evaluations, and budget and finance. -&nbsp;Support the Dean in decision-making, information gathering, report draft preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-through on matters assigned to the chairs and interdisciplinary program directors. -&nbsp;Collaborate with the other Associate Deans. -&nbsp;Collaborate to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention in all student populations. -&nbsp;Attend Associate Deans and Academic Affairs meetings. -&nbsp;Act in the Dean’s absence.
Academic Programs and Curricular Management: -&nbsp;Provide strategic management of general education, graduate education, and major program and course offerings, as well as new program development. -&nbsp;Assist with CurricuLog approval changes. -&nbsp;Review and approve course schedules. -&nbsp;Attend Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee meetings. -&nbsp;Support collaboration across units with graduate education and research, including grant proposals. -&nbsp;Provide consultations and advocacy for student concerns.
Communications/Community/College: -&nbsp;Work closely with the Dean, the Director of Development, and the Alumni Relations Coordinator to assist in program development activities and newsletter articles. - Encourage and support business, industry, and community partnerships. -&nbsp;Assist with media relations pertaining to CEPS programs. -&nbsp;Interact with faculty, administrators, staff, students, alumni, other University constituencies, and outside agencies.
Policy Coordination and Committee Membership: -&nbsp;Represent the college on committees as assigned. -&nbsp;Work with the Dean to maintain policies and procedures related to the college and the university. -&nbsp;Approve grade changes, incompletes, independent studies, and internships consistent with university and program policies.
Supervision: -&nbsp;Oversee the supervision of the Director of Advising and the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator. -&nbsp;Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Education and Professional Studies. A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CEPS’s academic departments. Demonstrated successful departmental or college-level administrative, leadership, and budget experience in an institution of higher education. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of inclusion and equity issues within a residential liberal arts environment Collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style with the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to benefit the success of students, colleagues, and initiatives. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated expertise in analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. Experience with culturally responsive curriculum development and with assessment of programmatic, general education, and course-level outcomes for accreditation. Job Description The School of Natural Resources (SNR) at the University of Missouri (MU) is seeking a faculty member in Climate Science. With this position, MU will better occupy a place among a select group of universities that boast a truly integrated and multidisciplinary approach to extension, research, and actionable scholarship in the field of climate science. This position will strengthen growing teaching and research programs, collaborate with other established MU research centers to garner major grants, form innovative new partnerships with private and public partners, and contribute toward improving grant and publication metrics considered in the Association of American Universities' (AAU) rankings. This position will complement and collaborate with faculty in SNR; the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR); and other colleges and departments across the MU campus. Collaborative opportunities also exist with the MU Center for Agroforestry, the MU Water Center, and the Interdisciplinary Plant Group (IPG). This is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment in teaching and research at the assistant professor level.
