About the Role
Our Statistics team provide statistical and analytical expertise across Costello Medical, devising statistical analysis plans and performing data analysis within R, Excel, Stan, SQL and BUGS software. They are also responsible for communicating the methodologies and results in both written and oral formats to drug and device manufacturers, and doctors. The statistical analyses vary across patient-level clinical trial data, observational study (real-world) data, and published aggregate data. Our work involves a range of techniques such as basic statistical analysis of individual patient data, regression analysis, survival analysis and complex Bayesian network meta-analysis using both standard and emerging methods.
The Senior Statistician will lead statistics projects, working very closely with the Consultant or Team Lead as well as colleagues from all specialities, to ensure that statistics projects are delivered to an exceptionally high standard, on time and in line with client expectations. This involves providing strategic advice to clients at project initiation, supervising the project team and regular interaction with external stakeholders by teleconference, email and in person. The Senior Statistician will also be central to the quality control of the project, involving the review of colleagues' work and the provision of constructive feedback.

Required Minimum Skills:

Our customer requires a proven senior statistician with a wide variety of industry knowledge and application experience. Successful candidates will employ modern statistical tools and innovation to drive customer savings and efficiencies. <li>Extensive experience in statistical analysis, including quantitative and qualitative methods. </li>

<li>Experience in the use of linear programming, operations research, principal component analysis, cluster analysis, univariate and multivariate regression analysis, reliability, and time-series analysis methods to form predictive models for specific response variables.</li>

Job Description 
The Senior Research Statistician, Statistics is responsible for providing statistical support to the research and development organization. Specific areas of work may include clinical trials, patient safety, and global medical affairs (GMA). The Senior Research Statistician works in partnership with experts in multiple disciplines to advance medicines to our patients.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Contribute to design, analysis and reporting of clinical trials or other scientific research studies. Assist with development of protocols and/or statistical analysis plans (or product safety analysis plans/integrated summary of safety analysis plans/analysis plans for GMA evidence generation) with details for programming implementation. Work under supervision to implement sound statistical methodology in scientific investigations.</li>
<li>Assist in identifying scientifically appropriate data collection instruments. Identify and report data issues or violations of study assumptions. Provide programming specifications for derived variables and analysis datasets. Collaborate with Data Science in preparing for database lock.</li>
<li>With supervision perform statistical analyses as per the analysis plan. Collaborate with Statistical Programming to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs according to agreed-upon timelines. Evaluate appropriateness of available software for planned analyses and assess needs for potential development of novel statistical methodology.</li>
<li>With supervision, develop strategy for data presentation and inference. Ensure appropriate interpretation of statistical deliverables in collaboration with other functions. Collaborate in publication of scientific research. Ensure accuracy and internal consistency of reports and publications, including tables, listings, and figures. Ensure the accuracy of the statistical component of scientific reports and/or publications with high quality.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Clearly explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians. Provide responses to questions and pursue analyses suggested by data under supervision. Support communications between assigned product team(s) and functional management. Build/drive cross-functional relationships and collaboration</li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
<ul>
<li>MS (with 4+ years of experience) or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field.</li>
<li>High degree of technical competence and effective communication skills, both oral and written</li>
<li>Able to perform statistical computations and simulations</li>
<li>Able to identify data or analytical issues, and assist with providing solutions by either applying own skills and knowledge or seeking help from others</li>
</ul>
Able to build strong relationship with peers and cross-functional partners to achieve higher performance. Highly motivated to drive innovation by raising the bar and challenging the status quo
