The Director of Major Gifts is a member of Friends of the High Line’s Individual Giving team, which encompasses membership, major gifts, and planned giving. The Director manages the major gifts program, which raises $2-3 million annually. A key frontline fundraiser, the Director personally cultivates and stewards an existing portfolio of donors and prospects, while supporting major gifts fundraising by FHL senior leaders. The Director also supports cultivation strategy, prospecting, and revenue projections for the entire major gifts program. This role reports to the Senior Director of Individual Giving and Board Relations, and works collaboratively with the Director of Individual Giving, Director of Development Operations, and others across FHL teams.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Manage a portfolio of 150+ individual donors and prospects through personalized correspondence, proposals, and engagements, with an emphasis on cultivating and soliciting 5-to-6 figure gifts.</li>
<li>Direct the Major Gifts program, working with the Senior Director of Individual Giving to set revenue projections and donor cultivation strategies for other senior FHL fundraisers including the Executive Director and Chief Advancement Officer.</li>
<li>Supervise the Individual Giving Coordinator on the administration and execution of the Major Gifts program.</li>
<li>Pursue an active schedule of donor engagements and meetings (5-10 meaningful donor interactions/month on average), and maintain a detailed donor pipeline report via CRM.</li>
<li>Conduct regular analysis of FHL’s donor and prospect pipeline to identify opportunities to grow philanthropic support, and collaborate with the Director of Individual Giving to identify upgrade prospects from membership program.</li>
<li>Proactively identify and qualify new prospects, including for restricted program support, to grow the Major Gifts pipeline.</li>
<li>Plan cultivation and stewardship events for the Major Gifts portfolio in partnership with the Director of Individual Giving and Special Events team.</li>
<li>Work with Individual Giving Coordinator to prepare memos for senior leadership meetings with donors, including setting meeting objectives and talking points.</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge of organizational funding areas and identify prospective donors for those needs.</li>
<li>Draft fundraising materials for a wide range of FHL priorities including general operations as well as restricted funding opportunities, to capitalize on major gift donor interests and support year-end major gift fundraising.</li>
<li>Support the execution of FHL’s growing Planned Giving program, including engaging 1:1 with planned giving donors and prospects.</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>8-10 years of experience in fundraising, with an emphasis on major gifts.</li>
<li>Frontline fundraising experience and demonstrated success raising five and six-figure or more gifts</li>
<li>Proven track record of relationship management and using moves management to maximize revenue and donor retention</li>
<li>Experience in staff supervision and management</li>
<li>Knowledge of prospect research techniques and protocols</li>
<li>Outstanding oral and written communication skills, especially listening and targeting communications to the specific interests of varied audiences</li>

Reporting to the Director of Development &amp; Communications, the&nbsp;Major Donor &amp; Institutional Giving Officer (MDO) &nbsp;is a pivotal member of the Development team, responsible for securing philanthropic investment to help advance the organization’s mission of accelerating equitable access to renewable energy solutions. The role leads the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a focused portfolio of major individual donors ($5,000+) and institutional funders—including foundations, corporations, and public/government entities, while coordinating the full grants lifecycle—from prospecting and proposal development to reporting and compliance
The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship-builder and storyteller with a proven track record of successfully securing five, six- and seven-figure gifts and grants, deep expertise in donor strategy, and the ability to translate complex renewable energy and climate justice initiatives into compelling, results-oriented cases for support. Through strategic relationship management and cross-functional collaboration, this position will grow and diversify B.O.S.S.’ philanthropic support aligned to program impact to drive clean energy innovation, strengthen community resilience, support climate justice, and expand equitable access for historically underserved populations.
Minimum Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

<li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;or business administration) required. Advanced degree preferred.</li>
<li>5–8+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including 5+ years in major gifts and institutional giving.</li>

About the Executive Director of Student Life JOB SUMMARY Under direction from the Vice President of Student Services, the Executive Director at Spokane Community College (SCC) is responsible for leading the following areas: Conduct; CARE and Behavioral Intervention Teams; Student Government; Activities and Engagement; Disabilities Access Services; and the Student Health Clinic. The Executive Director serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator to the Vice President. This position will ensure SCC's services and programs are consistent with the College's mission of achieving student success while complying with Washington State law, Washington Administrative Code, and the policies, procedures and guidelines established by SCC and Spokane Colleges. This position partners closely with other leaders to ensure robust and aligned networks of support that advance student success. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Provide excellent leadership, supervision, training, and direction for all staff in all functional areas. Focus on holistic well-being so that all students, staff, and faculty feel a sense of belonging at SCC. *</li>
<li>Work collaboratively across the institution and district. *</li>
<li>Develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate objectives and procedures for assigned areas ensuring services and programs are consistent with Federal and Washington State Law and the policies and procedures established by SCC and the District. Provide the Vice President with yearly objectives and evaluations of assigned areas. *</li>
<li>Provide oversight for the strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation efforts for assigned areas. Oversee the collection and dissemination of data needed for accreditation, grants, reports, proposals, and budgets. *</li>
<li>Oversee orientation, training, and evaluation of Associated Student Government, student leaders, and orientation of club advisors and their budgets. *</li>
<li>Provide leadership in helping the campus community understand the uniqueness and value of a large enrollment with students who have a variety of social identities. *</li>
<li>Function as leader of the Student Code of Conduct and all related processes. Serve as chair of the CARE Team and Behavioral Intervention Team. Conduct intake interviews with registered sex offenders. *</li>
<li>Review Spokane Colleges policies and procedures and coordinate with Campus Security on student background checks. *</li>
<li>Travel to rural campus centers and state meetings as needed. *</li>
<li>Resolve student concerns utilizing informal and formal processes. *</li>
<li>Oversee Lair Student Center use including coordination with the contracted food service vendor. * </li>
<li>Supervise (e.g., recruit, select, train, and recommend disciplinary actions) full/part-time classified, and professional exempt employees. Adhere to the faculty Master Contract, classified rules, collective bargaining agreements, and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations and student success. * </li>
<li>Responsible for budgets and fiscal direction, organization, and governance of assigned programs and services. * </li>
<li>Serve as SCC's representative at the statewide Council of Unions and Student Programs (CUSP). *</li>
<li>Serve on and work with SCC committees including those that may not be directly related to student development, student activities, and discipline. *</li>
<li>Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions. *</li>
<li>Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. *</li>
<li>Support and advance Spokane Colleges' strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned. *</li>

<li>Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations as they pertain to student services.</li>

<li>Knowledge of FERPA, Conduct, and Title IX regulations and requirements.</li>
<li>Excellent supervision skills.</li>
<li>Proven successes in budget development, financial management, and strategic planning.</li>

Benefits Information This is a contracted, exempt management position. Vacation leave accrues at the rate of 14.67 hours per month (22 days per year) and sick leave accrues at the rate of 8 hours per month, effective upon employment.
