Instruction of course and skills lab will include but are not limited to, the scope of practice, patient communication, the environment of care, daily living activities, patient safety, and use of PPE. Educational Requirements: 
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required for faculty members teaching PCT courses&nbsp;due to its direct relationship with nursing care or&nbsp;High School Diploma or Postsecondary/Vocational training, equal to or greater than what is being offered from training (CNA Course).
Experience and Professional Qualifications:
-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Must have a minimum of three years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.

Responsibilities

Job Description:
The Patient Care Technician assists with the conduct of clinical trials through overseeing the care of clinical trial subjects while housed on unit. Assist with the collection of biological samples, perform venipuncture, electrocardiograms, tube labeling, sample processing, documenting in subject charts, and other related tasks in accordance with the doctor’s written orders. In executing these responsibilities, the Patient Care Technician is guided by Good Clinical Practices (GCP), International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and company standard operating procedures and policies.
Responsibilities:

<li>Perform regular safety and status checks on clinical trial subjects housed on unit as determined by physician orders. </li>
<li>Perform appropriate research protocol procedures as delegated which may include but are not limited to vital signs, blood collection and processing, ECGs, and point of care laboratory tests. </li>
<li>Perform basic lab procedures as delegated including but not limited to preparation of specimen tubes and labels, blood specimen collection, centrifuge operation, storing and shipping of lab specimens, accountability of specimens and notification of courier for specimen pick-ups.</li>
<li>Ensure that biological specimens are disposed of appropriately. </li>
<li>Maintain a clean, safe work environment for both fellow employees and clinical trial subjects. </li>
<li>Engage the clinical trial subjects in group activities or one-on-one activities while housed on unit. </li>
<li>Assure subjects have linens, toiletry items, and other sundries needed while the subject is housed on the unit. </li>
<li>Serve meals and provide snacks to clinical trial subjects while subjects are housed on unit. </li>
<li>Study, learn and comply with ERG site standard operating procedures, and other policies, practices and regulations where applicable.</li>

$2000.00 sign on bonus for CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) or Bonent CHT (Certified Hemodialysis Technologist/Technician) Certifications.
 
Patient Care Technician (PCT) 
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Health Systems Management support and work under the guidance of RNs to provide dialysis treatment to multiple patients at a time. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and compassion needed to improve the quality of life for our patients while promoting positive patient outcomes. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis. To be considered for this position qualified candidates are required to have a minimum of 6 months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience. Good fit for those with - CHT, CCHT, CNA, CMA, PCA, CPT, CMA, EMT, CST, CPhT, etc.

We are currently looking for compassionate, dedicated, and highly motivated PCTs to join our dialysis team. 

PCT Responsibilities and Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.

<li>Set up of the hemodialysis machine. </li>
<li>Greet patients and collect details regarding their previous treatment. Report any concerns or observations to the lead nurse. </li>
<li>Assist with and prepare the patient's vascular access for treatment. </li>
<li>Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment per written policies, procedures, and standards of care. </li>
<li>Obtain patient's vital signs before, during, and after dialysis treatment and appropriately document in patient medical record. </li>
<li>Responsible for appropriately calculating and documenting patient's fluid removal. </li>
<li>PCT performs appropriate access cannulation and reports any difficulties or unusual findings to the lead nurse. </li>
<li>Monitor the patient for any adverse reaction(s) and conduct appropriate intervention.</li>
<li>Monitor the dialysis machine for any malfunction. Report any malfunctions to the lead nurse. </li>
<li>Demonstrates knowledge of infection control as related to hand washing, personal protective equipment (PPE), and universal precautions. </li>
<li>Maintain patient safety and comfort, which may include assisting with personal care needs and activities of daily living. </li>
<li>Responds appropriately to emergency situations. </li>
<li>Note you will have exposure to blood, needles, and various other bodily fluids. </li>
<li>This position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting, moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation. </li>
<li>PCT will spend considerable time walking, bending, stretching, and standing. </li>
<li>The employee may occasionally be required to move machines, equipment, and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 pounds and high as five feet. </li>
<li>You are required to acknowledge the inter-facility coverage policy that supports floating to various clinics during and after your training, if needed. </li>

PCT What You Can Expect: 
<ul>
<li>Improvement: HSM consistently strives to improve processes for our patients and teammates.</li>
<li>Training: May take plate in a facility or a different clinic other than your assigned home clinic. </li>
<li>Hours: Work hours may vary during the training period. However, you will typically work between 36-40 hours per week during training. </li>

Education Requirements and Position Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma required.</li>
<li>Basic computer knowledge required.</li>
<li>6 Months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience is required.</li>
<li>Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the Health Systems Management training program in its entirety. </li>
<li>The ability to work long hours is required. You could be on your feet for extended periods of time. Our day ends when patients’ care is completed.</li>
<li>You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. </li>
<li>Must pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months following the first day of employment.</li>
<li>Must have or obtain Basic Life Support certification approved by the American Heart Association</li>
<li>Must be comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation, and obtaining labs.</li>
<li>Excellent bedside manner and communication skills. </li>
<li>Employee must successfully pass the Ishihara’s Color Blind Test.</li>
