Key Responsibilities:

The Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) is seeking a Temporary Lobbyist to support its government relations team during the legislative session and peak public-policy periods. This role will advocate public education, Indiana’s educators, and students by representing ISTA before state lawmakers, and relevant agencies. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the Indiana legislative process, strong communication skills, and a passion for strengthening public education.
This role supports ISTA’s mission to advocate for quality public education, the rights of educators, and equitable opportunities for all Indiana students.

<li>This is a time-limited position based largely around the current Indiana legislative calendar.</li>

This is a temporary Professional Staff Organization (PSO) position and is subject to the collective bargaining agreement between ISTA and PSO. Responsibilities

We are seeking a senior-level, well-connected In-House Lobbyist with a proven track record in Michigan politics and healthcare policy. The ideal candidate will have deep relationships across state and federal systems, health departments, boards, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)/Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). They should bring experience advocating for programs such as FQHC look-alike designation, PACE program expansion, Medicaid incentives, abatements, and funding streams.
This individual will play a key role in shaping public policy, aligning with Medicaid and MCO objectives, securing access to federal and state funding, and building public-private pathways that allow our healthcare partners to grow. A major focus of this role is to help move lives/members to our healthcare entities by advocating for contracts, abatements, pilot programs, and policy structures that support innovation and access.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Healthcare Policy &amp; Funding Advocacy: Drive influence over health-related legislation and regulation — particularly those impacting Medicaid, reimbursement models, behavioral health, FQHC look-alike programs, PACE, incentives/abatements, wellness programs, and social determinants of health (SDOH).</li>
<li>MCO &amp; ACO Relationship Building: Cultivate and activate relationships with Managed Medicaid Organizations and ACOs to secure partnerships, referrals, and pilots that benefit entities under Nuwell Management Network.</li>

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

From an operational spectrum it serves as the Finance and Human Resources Compliance Officers for the umbrella at large. 
Make the Road New Jersey (MRNJ) builds the power of immigrant and working-class communities to achieve dignity and respect through community organizing, the provision of high quality legal and support services, transformative education, and policy innovation. MRNJ is a project of Make the Road States. Founded in 2014, MRNJ operates centers and organizing hubs in the cities of Elizabeth, Passaic, Perth Amboy, and Newark, that reach thousands of immigrants and working-class people of color each year. Our member-led organizing committees -- which work on the issues named above-- implement strategies to combat shared problems and develop leadership and the capacity for civic participation. In the past four years, MRNJ has won more than 10 pro-immigrant and pro-worker policies, including the nation’s first guaranteed severance law, landmark anti-wage theft legislation, occupational and drivers’ license for undocumented immigrants and a $15 minimum wage. Current Opening:
The Political Director shall be a member of the New Jersey Senior Leadership Team, and will be responsible for managing a department that includes 501(c4) electoral canvass capacity, as well as 501(c3) organizing around policy and legislative goals, and communications to press, elected officials, allies, members and coalition partners. The Political Director shall work directly with the Executive Director and Political Directors from allied labor, community and advocacy organizations to build power for Make the Road New Jersey, and New Jersey’s progressive advocacy community.
