SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:&nbsp;&nbsp;
Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate conducts laboratory and field research, use and maintenance of facilities and equipment, supervise students, facilitates execution of research projects in aquaculture nutrition, and assists with data acquisition and analysis, grant writing and publications.&nbsp;&nbsp;
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:&nbsp;&nbsp;
Coordinate with Principal Investigator to fulfill project objectives.&nbsp;
Assist with use and maintenance of equipment, hatchery facilities, ponds, and Water Quality laboratory.&nbsp;
Assist other research staff by performing designated procedures and training.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Facilitate research and teaching activities among student employees, graduate students, research assistants, and collaborators.&nbsp;
Maintain records (research data, analytical procedures, manuals of analytical equipment, etc).&nbsp;
Responsible use of KSU vehicles and equipment.&nbsp;
Assist with purchasing equipment, materials, and supplies for research projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Assist with administration of the project to satisfy KSU policies and procedures.&nbsp;
Assist with writing grant proposals and refereed manuscripts.&nbsp;
Assist with data analysis, and preparation of graphics and text for presentation and publication.&nbsp;

QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Agriculture or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in Aquaculture Nutrition Research.&nbsp;&nbsp;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:&nbsp;
Experience with the manufacture of research diets for shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Experience with shrimp and finfish production.&nbsp;
Experience conducting nutrition studies (growth and digestibility) with shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;
Experience in performing proximate analyses in feeds and tissues of shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;
Experience with enzyme assays, plate reader, and analytical equipment.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Experience with routine water quality analyses in aquaculture.&nbsp;
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting recirculating aquaculture systems.&nbsp;
Knowledge of aquaculture nutrition research methods and experimental designs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Research Associate - Aquaculture Nutrition

Description The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking one (1) full-time pathologist for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicine’s clinician-teacher pathway. Clinical responsibilities will include reporting of morphology for lymph nodes, tissues, bloods and marrows, as well as flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) and may include molecular diagnostic testing, hemoglobin electrophoresis and coagulation reporting, depending on the interests of the candidate. Educational activities include teaching hematology / hematopathology to students, technologists, residents and fellows. &nbsp;Applicants are expected to be involved in administrative aspects of the lab, including new test development, and develop an area of focused research / scholarly work.&nbsp;
This is a full-time, 12-month service period (July 1 – June 30) position and remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024 but is flexible.
This appointment may be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors: $18,170 to $21,807 per month ($218,039 to $261,688 annually); Associate Professors: $21,903 to $25,696 per month ($262,831 to $308,357 annually); Professors: $26,023 to $31,796 per month ($312,274 to $381,547 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Course description:&nbsp;Gross and Developmental Anatomy focuses on the gross structure of organs and their function, and through clinical correlations, relates each to clinical medicine.&nbsp; An Anatomical Learning Resource Center has been established to utilize computer-based instruction, anatomical models, radiographic materials as well as supervised laboratory sessions dissecting various parts of the human body.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Students study the structure and function of all organs with some interaction with cellular structure.&nbsp; This course incorporates an understanding of how embryological processes give rise to the mature body form.&nbsp; When this course is complete, each student will have extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy and development of the entire human body as it relates clinically to the practice of medicine.

<li>Commitment to developing and growing our biology pre-med program through mentoring undergraduates and promoting related student organizations and activities.</li>

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Warm Welcome: Greet and assist all patients and visitors with a positive attitude, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.</li>
<li>Patient and Business Documentation: Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing important patient and business documents.</li>
<li>Insurance Verification: Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and provide patients with relevant payment policies and billing/collection information.</li>
<li>Financial Responsibility: Determine and collect each patient’s financial responsibility, ensuring transparency and clarity about costs.</li>
<li>Collaborative Support: Assist the practice manager, providers, and other staff members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.</li>
<li>Compliance: Understand and enforce healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and OSHA standards, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled according to guidelines.</li>
<li>Administrative Duties: Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks; proficiently operate office medical equipment.</li>
<li>Quality Assurance: Oversee compliance with quality assurance programs, CLIA waived laboratory requirements, and patient result trackers.</li>
<li>Travel Requirement: Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Beaumont Urgent Care locations as required.</li>

Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus</li>
<li>Experience: 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred</li>
<li>Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment</li>
<li>Technical Skills: Strong computer skills required, with the ability to efficiently multitask and work across multiple screens simultaneously. Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred</li>
<li>Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays</li>
<li>Team Player: A proactive, friendly, and patient-focused approach to service</li>
