Responsibilities
 The Campus as a Living Lab Coordinator is responsible for supporting the ongoing initiatives in the Office of Sustainability. These include existing programs, such as the Knox Farm, Share Shop, Bike Shop, and Traditional and Nontraditional Recycling. Also, the Living Lab Coordinator will work with the Director of Sustainability in planning and implementing campus events, such as Race to Zero Waste Campaign, Move Out, Earth Month, New Student Orientation, and Sustainability Tours on campus. One essential role will be collaborating with the Director on the collection of data of these programs and events, and the development of subsequent reports, communications, and presentations.
 
Additional responsibilities will include working with the Director to design and implement new strategies for increasing sustainability initiatives on campus through expanded curricular connections, improving efficiencies and better coordination in managing resources, and encouraging greater participation among students, staff, faculty and administration in these programs.
 
Required Qualifications ● Associate’s degree from an accredited 2 or 4 year institution ● Prior experience with data collection and management ● Excellent management and written communication skills ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects
 Preferred Qualifications ● Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university ● Prior experience working on an urban farm ● Prior experience managing compost systems ● Experience with community oriented workshops ● Experience leading volunteer hours

Responsibilities
Assist the Athletic Training department in providing sports medicine services and coverage for 14 varsity sports. This is a 100% Athletic Training role. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing practice and event coverage including evenings and weekends, supervision of athletic training facilities and student first aiders. Assistant Athletic Trainer provides care, prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and documentation of injuries for assigned sport responsibilities. Communication with sports medicine, coaching, and athletic administration staff is expected. Sport assignments and other duties to be determined by the Head Athletic Trainer. 
Additional duties will be determined, in part, by the experiences and strengths of the
successful candidate and may include assisting with game operations and/or teaching a
sports studies course.
Required Qualifications:

Asst Women's Basketball Coach

The Office of Civil Rights &amp; Title IX Compliance oversees the College’s compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to equal opportunity and non-discrimination, including but not limited to ADA/504, Title IX, Title VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. The Office also has the responsibility to ensure compliance with the Stop Hazing Act. The Office reports to the Interim VP of Student Development. This position would supervise the Civil Rights Program Coordinator.
 
The Deputy Director/Interim Director assists with the implementation of a college-wide strategic plan focused on delivering education, training, and prevention programming and centralizing reporting processes, ensuring timely, fair, and appropriate responses to all reports. As a critical contributor to the college’s efforts to achieve inclusive excellence, the Deputy Director/Interim Director serves as a resource for the college community on the issues addressed and support provided through the Office of Civil Rights &amp; Title IX Compliance.
 
Essential Duties

Assist with the implementation of a college-wide strategic plan to ensure compliance with all state and federal civil rights and equal opportunity laws and regulations,including the implementation, and monitoring of appropriate policies, procedures, and resolution procedures.

Job Description
Assistant Director of Disability Support Services
 The Assistant Director works with the Director of Disability Support Services (DSS) and the team to ensure that all divisional goals and objectives to support students with disabilities are realized. The Assistant Director will have a significant responsibility related to the management of the daily operations of the office, timely delivery of essential services to maintain compliance with federal mandates, and the handling of emergent student, faculty, and staff concerns/issues. The Assistant Director's duties include management of multiple systems of disability accommodations; oversight of special projects, student outreach, direct student support, student employee supervision, timely reporting, coordination of training, and other office activities. The Assistant Director will collaborate with other professional staff and employees within the DSS to enhance the academic success and retention of students with disabilities. The Assistant Director will also represent the DSS on key campus committees. 
 
The Assistant Director is a full-time, 12-month position and is responsible for sustaining the work of the Disability Support Services office and, in the absence of the Director, must be able to assume the leadership responsibilities of the office.
 
General Responsibilities:

Supervise the delivery of essential services to students with disabilities, including reasonable accommodations to promote and support equal opportunity and access in all academic, residential, and co-curricular programs and services.
</li>
<li>
Initiate targeted student outreach and communication to implement accommodations including but not limited to priority registration, reduced caseload, course substitutions, and accommodation letter notification. 
</li>
<li>
Review and interpret disability-related documentation for all areas of disability; conduct intake interviews and meetings with prospective families and students; determine reasonable accommodations; maintain strict confidentiality and show professional discretion in all interactions; document interactions with prospective and registered students. 
</li>
<li>
Collaborates with various offices including Campus/Student Life, Counseling Services, TRIO, Health Services, and offices, to evaluate and determine appropriate accommodations and services for students with disabilities.
</li>
<li>
Provide direct support services which include academic coaching and training on assistive technology; monitor and track the progress of DSS students in support or retention efforts; respond to and resolve student and faculty concerns; make referrals as needed.
</li>
<li>
Represents the DSS at key campus recruitment and retention events including but not limited to Admitted Student Days, College Open House, and New Student Orientation. 
</li>
<li>
Assists with supervising DSS testing services. Ensures office focus and attention to detail while scheduling and administering accommodated course exams and tests; adherence to DSS testing protocols, and enforcing institutional honor code policy. 
</li>
<li>
Assists the Director with managing Peer Note-taking and E-text systems. 
</li>
<li>
Under Director supervision, assists with supervision and implementation of documentation systems, data collection, service coordination, and reporting systems including student records and service planning. 
</li>
<li>
Under Director supervision, assists in developing, reviewing, evaluating, and implementing all operational procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and professional standards and ethics.

Assists with creating marketing materials, including but not limited to office bulletin boards, flyers, web content, and DSS newsletter, and manages social media accounts. 
</li>
<li>
Assists with recruitment and hiring of DSS student workers. Assists with onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation of the activities of office workers, peer educators, and peer navigators. Assists the director with Handshake recruitment postings.

Builds, fosters, and maintains intentional relationships with the college's departments and/or offices to ensure accurate dissemination of information, and coordination of academic student services

Academic/Advising Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Serve as an advocate and resource for assigned students. Assists students in understanding and negotiating the academic rules and regulations that govern academic eligibility, progress, and successful degree completion. 
</li>
<li>
Directs purposeful discussion with students to identify academic strengths and challenges, gauge adjustment to academic and social life on campus, and provide advice regarding viable pathways that may lead to enhanced student success. Assists students in developing a success plan and monitors plan progress and outcomes.
</li>
<li>
Collaborates with the associate academic dean and departmental academic advisors to identify students whose behaviors align with early alerts. Act as a liaison between faculty, faculty advisors, and students to address issues as they arise. 
</li>
<li>
Serve as a resource for faculty as they determine how to best implement approved accommodations including support in program or curricular modification, universal instructional design, learning strategies, adaptive/assistive technology and equipment, material in alternative media, note-taking, testing, and scribing.
</li>
<li>
Assist with the development of reports, data analysis, and assessment of students’ first-year term-by-term engagement.
</li>
<li>
Maintains awareness of current trends and best practices regarding student outreach and/or retention; assists with developing retention strategies, and works closely with college staff in implementing, evaluating, and improving retention strategies. 
</li>
</ul>
 
Student Life responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Review and analyze accommodation requests for co-curricular accommodations; speak with students requesting housing accommodations; and make recommendations to the College/Campus Life regarding housing accommodations.
</li>
<li>
Meet with students, families, and staff to resolve issues related to housing and dining accommodations, accessibility concerns, information about specific disabilities, and the rights and responsibilities of these constituencies relative to the mandates of relevant laws. 
</li>
<li>
Provide consultation to college staff in Student Development, Dining Services, Human Resources and Facilities
</li>
<li>
Work with and support Admissions on student outreach ensuring prospective students are informed of all accessibility services at the college.
</li>
</ul>
 
Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
Master’s degree in education/special education, higher education administration, college student personnel, counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
</li>
<li>
3 years of work experience in vocational rehabilitation, counseling, social work, higher education, or related fields; and experience working with individuals with disabilities. 
</li>

Understanding of disability services in higher education. 
</li>
<li>

Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Police Officer performs a wide variety of duties involving the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations; issues citations; participates in and conducts a variety of criminal investigations; makes arrests; provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement program.
Requirements
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED.</li>
<li>Possession of valid Washington State Driver's License by the time of appointment.</li>
<li>Must be at least 20.5 years of age at the time of application.</li>
<li>Pursuant to RCW 41.12.070, must be a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident who can read and write the English language.</li>
<li>Because of the known effects of tobacco use, the City of Des Moines does not hire applicants who use tobacco products.</li>
<li>Must successfully pass all background screening conducted by the Department, including, but not limited to, drug history, driving record, credit history, criminal record, work history, reference check, and Chief's interview; if given a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be polygraphed and will undergo a psychological examination and a medical examination which includes drug testing.</li>

Premium Pay and Benefits
<ul>
<li>Educational incentive pay: 2.5% for AA/AS/AT, 4% for BA/BS, 5% for MA/MS/MPA</li>
<li>Specialty Pay premiums such as Field Training Officer, SWAT, Drug Recognition Expert, Collision Technician etc.</li>
<li>Longevity premiums after five (5) years of service at DMPD</li>
<li>Patrol schedule consists of 12-hour shifts working 3 days on, 3 days off, on a rotating basis</li>
<li>Bank of 104 hours of holiday leave received each January</li>
<li>Up to 52 hours of holiday time may be cashed out each December</li>
<li>110 hours of Kelly Time off per year</li>
<li>96 hours of paid vacation leave per year, progressing up to 192 hours per year</li>
<li>The City offers two medical plan options: LEOFF Trust Plan F (Premera) and Kaiser Permanente </li>
<li>Employer paid dental and orthodontia</li>
<li>Employer funded-HRA-VEBA account </li>
<li>The City participates in the Washington State LEOFF retirement system. </li>
<li>In addition, the City contributes 6.52% of wages to a 401(a) Social Security replacement plan</li>
