The Chief of Endocrinology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the&nbsp;Division. The Division Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and&nbsp;oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division. The Chief of Endocrinology&nbsp;will have financial authority over the division&nbsp; budget, including extramural research and&nbsp;philanthropic funding received and other financial matters for the division, in accordance with&nbsp;applicable University policies and practices. The Chief of Endocrinology will have discretion in&nbsp;the recruitment and retention of division faculty who will have a direct reporting line. Qualified&nbsp;candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) or equivalent degree&nbsp;from an accredited institution and be eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at&nbsp;the Associate or Full Professor rank. The Chief of Endocrinology will also play a prominent role in&nbsp;the establishment of a Diabetes Research Center with the support of an ongoing University of&nbsp;Arizona (UA) capital campaign and the continued development of an NIH - T32 training program in&nbsp;diabetes, endocrine, and metabolism.
The Endocrinology division is one of twelve within the Department of Medicine, which leads the&nbsp;University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Tucson in research funding, and has two residency&nbsp;programs, 15 fellowship programs including endocrinology, and numerous mentorship opportunities in&nbsp;multidisciplinary health science graduate programs. The College anchors the University of Arizona&nbsp;Health Sciences (UAHS) campus, which also houses the UA Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy, and&nbsp;Nursing, as well as multiple research Centers of Excellence, and includes a research partnership&nbsp;with the Veterans Affairs (VA) Tucson Medical Center, which serves all Southern Arizona. Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership and management of day-to-day operations of the Division of Endocrinology.</li>
<li>Responsible for recruitment, management, compensation, and retention of faculty in consideration of&nbsp;UA, UHSC, College, and B—UMG strategic plans and initiatives in balance of the multiple, tripartite&nbsp;mission of the University.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Academic Affairs and other educational offices at the College to ensure the&nbsp;division and their faculty are advancing the mission of the medical student, graduate student, and&nbsp;graduate medical education teaching programs.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining liaison with other clinical and/or basic science departments to foster&nbsp;an integrated teaching environment for the College.</li>
<li>Has the responsibility to support and expand research activities within the division, and across&nbsp;the Department, College and UAHS, working with key partners.</li>
<li>Provide leadership oversight and effective management of an active program of independent,&nbsp;extramurally funded basic, translational or clinical research in area of research&nbsp;expertise/specialization.</li>
<li>Is the clinical role model and leader of the division’s clinical activities and works with the&nbsp;Dean, Department Head, and the B—UMG CEO to coordinate the clinical activities of the division and oversee inpatient and outpatient clinical services.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining appropriate standards of care appropriate to the discipline.</li>
<li>Provide direct patient care in the inpatient and/or ambulatory (outpatient) setting as a licensed and fully credentialed provider as a member of Banner—University Medical Group.</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring the fiscal accountability and sustainability of the division working with the&nbsp;College’s Business Affairs Office.</li>

Requirements

Responsibilities:
Provide professional nursing care to wound, skin, and ostomy patients. Assesses the patient's skin condition and wound care needs upon admission and weekly; sets goals; recommends appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals. Keep other licensed clinical professionals informed on items related to wound care, ostomies, and incontinence. Monitor and track changes in the client/patient's conditions and needs, and keeps the Director of Nursing and any other appropriate personnel informed.
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Current unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license</li>
<li>Current CPR/BLS Certification (in-person only) </li>
<li>Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray within past year</li>
<li>Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, preferred.</li>
<li>WOCN preferred</li>
<li>Current and valid Texas Driver's License</li>
<li>Current and valid automobile insurance</li>
<li>Must pass a Background Check and Drug Screen</li>
<li>Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently</li>
