The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean and CEPS Administrative team on planning and implementing college strategic initiatives. This includes supporting CEPS administrative leaders in equity-focused program assessment and accreditation, culturally responsive curriculum and program development, cultivation of business and community partnerships, and strategic management of course offerings and scheduling for the college. The Associate Dean also has an important role in facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures related to the college and the university. This position oversees the CEPS Director of Advising and the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator and reports to the Dean of CEPS.&nbsp;All employees are expected to facilitate CWU’s commitment to diversity and to foster and advance inclusion in the university environment.

The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;
Job Duties Support for the Dean: -&nbsp;Collaborate with the Dean on planning college strategic initiatives, participate in college fundraising, and coordinate implementation of CEPS strategic priorities. -&nbsp;Provide CEPS administrative leaders support in areas of culturally responsive curriculum development, equity-focused institutional assessment and improvement, human resource management, faculty/staff development and performance evaluations, and budget and finance. -&nbsp;Support the Dean in decision-making, information gathering, report draft preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-through on matters assigned to the chairs and interdisciplinary program directors. -&nbsp;Collaborate with the other Associate Deans. -&nbsp;Collaborate to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention in all student populations. -&nbsp;Attend Associate Deans and Academic Affairs meetings. -&nbsp;Act in the Dean’s absence.
Academic Programs and Curricular Management: -&nbsp;Provide strategic management of general education, graduate education, and major program and course offerings, as well as new program development. -&nbsp;Assist with CurricuLog approval changes. -&nbsp;Review and approve course schedules. -&nbsp;Attend Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee meetings. -&nbsp;Support collaboration across units with graduate education and research, including grant proposals. -&nbsp;Provide consultations and advocacy for student concerns.
Communications/Community/College: -&nbsp;Work closely with the Dean, the Director of Development, and the Alumni Relations Coordinator to assist in program development activities and newsletter articles. - Encourage and support business, industry, and community partnerships. -&nbsp;Assist with media relations pertaining to CEPS programs. -&nbsp;Interact with faculty, administrators, staff, students, alumni, other University constituencies, and outside agencies.
Policy Coordination and Committee Membership: -&nbsp;Represent the college on committees as assigned. -&nbsp;Work with the Dean to maintain policies and procedures related to the college and the university. -&nbsp;Approve grade changes, incompletes, independent studies, and internships consistent with university and program policies.
Supervision: -&nbsp;Oversee the supervision of the Director of Advising and the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator. -&nbsp;Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring. Conduct formal performance evaluations. -&nbsp;Recognize value of and promote diverse workforce. Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Education and Professional Studies. A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CEPS’s academic departments. Demonstrated successful departmental or college-level administrative, leadership, and budget experience in an institution of higher education. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of inclusion and equity issues within a residential liberal arts environment Collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style with the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to benefit the success of students, colleagues, and initiatives. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated expertise in analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. Experience with culturally responsive curriculum development and with assessment of programmatic, general education, and course-level outcomes for accreditation. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Excellent relationship building skills and initiative and enjoy working with minimal supervision in a dynamic, collaborative academic atmosphere. Job Description:\n\nPurpose of Your Job Position A professional nurse employed to supervise the total nursing activities of the assigned unit around the clock. To ensure that each patient receives treatments, medication, and diet as prescribed, and rehabilitative nursing care as needed, receives proper care to prevent decubitus ulcers and deformities, and is kept comfortable, clean, well groomed and protected from accidents, injury and infections. The Unit Manager serves as a liaison between all other departments and personnel on the unit. Delegation of Authority As Unit Manager you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Job Functions Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. Duties and Responsibilities Administrative FunctionsTwenty four hour responsibility for all nursing care on unit.Direct standardization, enforces policy and procedures. Develop and adapts work techniques and methods of resolving nursing service problems.Plans nursing care to meet the total needs of the patient.Initiate the plan of care for the patient through assessment and interview of the patient on admission; assures completion of 5 admission assessment: Pain, side rail, fall risk assessments, Incontinent, Mini-Mental. Assesses completion of admitting nursing notes to reflect information needed to complete MDS. The information will be the basis for the plan of care.Complete the Braden scale for all admission &amp; readmission and assure that resident has proper mattress and seat cushion as applicable.Head care plan conference weekly with interdisciplinary team. Care plans can and should be updated by the Unit Manager as situations present.Initiate the ICP summary and have ready for discussion at the care plan meeting.Responsible for weekly wound rounds. Escort them to their rooms as necessary.Make rounds with physicians as necessary.Encourage attending physicians to record and sign progress notes, physicians' orders, etc., on a timely basis and in accordance with current regulations.Inform the Director when physician visits are not made in a timely manner.Consult with the resident, his/her family, and the resident's physician in planning the resident's care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., as necessary.Notify the resident's attending physician and next-of-kin when there is a change in the resident's condition.Visit residents to observe and evaluate each resident's physical and emotional status.Ensure that direct nursing care be provided by a licensed nurse, a certified nursing assistant, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.Review nurses' notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident's response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident's wishes.Provide direct nursing care as necessary.Start IVs, obtain sputum, urine and other specimens for lab tests as ordered.Take TPRs, blood pressures, etc., as necessary.Admit, transfer and discharge residents as necessary.Report problem areas to the Director. JOB DUTIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the mechanical equipment of the department.
Works under the supervision of the Parks Superintendent, Assistant Parks Superintendent and/or Greens Supervisor and Parks Maintenance Worker IV - Mechanic.
Using excellent customer service skills establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, divisions, departments, officials, and all members of the general public.
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the city.
Carries out and evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment, either personally, or through outside vendors.
Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
Tests, services, diagnoses problems, and repairs mechanical equipment properly and in a timely manner.
Inspects, adjusts and replaces necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
Repairs brake, engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems.
Cuts and welds metal and performs body repair, touch up and related work.
Changes and repairs tires and tubes on equipment.
Evaluates status of mechanical equipment, and performs or schedules needed repairs.
Conducts various analyses and inspections of mechanical systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair or replacement.
Requisitions equipment, parts, and supplies used for mechanical system maintenance.
Provides emergency field assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate. Repair in field or set up for transport. 
Maintains records, prepares reports and other specialized maintenance records of equipment and 
mechanical equipment.
 
Works closely with Vehicle Maintenance on repairs and or service preformed on units with COF unit numbers. 
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
This position requires a baseline audiometric examination.
Extensive background checks required.
Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent plus some specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management, or a closely related field.
Valid driver's license with CDL endorsement, with acceptable driving record for past three years or state of current residency, or ability to obtain CDL within one year of date of hire.
Two (2) years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Thorough knowledge of small engine mechanics; considerable knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, fire pumps and valves, generators, and welding, price trends and grades or quality of materials and equipment.
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to municipal maintenance and repair activities.
Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials and tools used in modern equipment maintenance.
Ability to maintain effective preventive maintenance programs, policies and procedures.
Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and general computer knowledge, some knowledge of Microsoft office.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Skill in operation of mechanical equipment for testing purposes, power and hand tools and equipment for mechanical system work; mechanic's tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for minor repairs and routine maintenance of equipment; calculator; phone; mobile or portable radio, computer, and various hand tools.
NOTE: Employee is required to supply their own hand tools and storage cabinet/tool chest. Employee may be given an annual tool allowance, dependent upon approval of the budget by the City Council.

The Essex Fire Department has an opening for an Assistant Fire Chief to serve our paid-on-call fire department. This is considered an appointed position and is not eligible for benefits under the Town of Essex.
To be considered for this role the successful candidate must live within proximity to the Town of Essex and be available to respond to emergency calls for service.
 
The Assistant Fire Chief is a key leadership position responsible for carrying out the vision of the department through collaboration, developing talent, planning and managing resources. This dedicated volunteer fire and EMS department is comprised of approximately 36 members who receive over 2000 emergency calls per year.
 
Job Descriptions:
Assistant Chief This rank is part of the Senior Command Staff of the Department and part of the overall operations. The Assistant Chief will perform duties as assigned by the Chief and act as Command in the absence of the Chief.
