Key Responsibilities

Job Description 
This position is contingent on contract award.&nbsp;
International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Radiology Technician to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays and other imaging studies, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients' medical conditions. This role includes ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during imaging procedures and maintaining compliance with health regulations and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Operates and displays expertise and skill in the use and operation of x-ray control consoles, tube assemblies and lock systems to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Performs a full range of general radiology imaging studies, for example, chest abdomen and extremity images.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Responsible to the radiologists, lead technologist, and chief technologist for the quality of radiographic exams performed to assure a high level of acceptability of radiographs while minimizing patient dosage and reducing costs.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patient, staff and self.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Assure compliance to radiation regulations wear film badges.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Be aware of and practice the safety policies/procedures of the medical center and participate in quality assurance activities as directed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Schedules exams in the appropriate order when multiple procedures are requested.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Properly identifies the patient and the image.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Uses left and right markers. This is essential so that mistaken identity does not occur.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Be certain that the patient ID band and the request are identical.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Responsible to explain exams to competent patients so that the patient understands what is to be done as well as any adverse reactions, if any, are possible.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>May be required by procedure or patient's condition to monitor vital signs, recognize allergic reactions and initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

Qualifications 
Basic Requirements/Certifications:&nbsp;&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Trained in Basic First Aid.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and must be able to compose reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations.&nbsp;</li>

Education Required:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>
Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Physical Requirements:&nbsp;

<li>This position is considered hazardous duty.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.&nbsp;</li>

Other Special Qualifications:&nbsp;

<li>Minimum of 21 years of age.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.&nbsp;</li>

 Additional Information 
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation:&nbsp; Min:&nbsp; $30/hr&nbsp; &nbsp;Max: $35/hr
