The Specialist Engineer - Electrical is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design of Airport Ground Support Equipment such as pushback tractors, baggage tractors, baggage loaders, mobile stairs, and maintenance platforms. • Layout of the Electrical system architecture for new product development and prototyping.
• Definition of the control system architecture for new product development.
• Initial programming and maintenance of unit controls in vehicle controllers and onboard displays in CoDeSys development software.
• Maintain and update existing Structured Text code for vehicle controls.
• Selection and application of vehicle electrical components such as relays, switches, circuit breakers, proximity sensors, pressure sensors, shifters, lights, telematics.

• Creation of test plan, and first power up instructions for the new product developed.

The Role
The Electrical (PCB) Engineer will transform high-level electrical design intent into complete, manufacturable board designs. Working closely with senior engineers, this person will produce schematics, assist with component selection and substitution, and lay out complex, multi-layer PCBs. They will prepare clean release packages and coordinate with vendors to ensure successful fabrication. Once boards arrive, they will inspect, test, and support bring-up to ensure readiness for system integration.

Responsibilities

<li>Translate system-level electrical design intent into detailed schematics.</li>
<li>Select components, evaluate alternates, and maintain component libraries.</li>
<li>Perform PCB layout for multi-layer boards (6+ layers), including high-speed, low-noise, and RF routing.</li>
<li>Generate complete release documentation packages, including drawings, BOMs, and revision notes.</li>
<li>Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors; incorporate DFM/DFA feedback.</li>
<li>Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and characterization using oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, and similar equipment.</li>
<li>Develop simple test fixtures or scripts to support inspection and testing.</li>
<li>Contribute to design reviews and document decision-making outcomes.</li>
<li>Maintain organized design files and version control discipline across projects.</li>
</ul>
 
Required Education

Met Weld International, LLC (MWI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Altamont, NY. The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, test and optimize the manufacturing and installation of instrumentation and controls, components, or systems for commercial use. 
The electrical engineer in this role will interface daily with the engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver innovative solutions to meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a strong background in control system design (hardware/software/network), electrical panel design and power calculations, risk assessment, component selection and configuration, control system programming, and control system installation and commissioning. 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. This includes:
