Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Document Imaging Specialist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scanning microfiche and microfilm documents into digital form. This role requires careful handling of fragile microfilm and microfiche materials and may also include the scanning of paper documents. The candidate must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and committed to ensuring high-quality, accurate digital images.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Operate microfilm and microfiche scanners to convert documents into digital form.</li>
<li>Perform daily checks of scanning equipment and settings to ensure proper functioning.</li>
<li>Follow production procedures, complete internal documentation, and track project progress.</li>
<li>Handle microfiche and microfilm with extreme care to maintain document integrity.</li>
<li>Align all scans with proper orientation and clarity according to project specifications.</li>
<li>Review each scanned image to ensure it meets quality standards.</li>
<li>Accurately record hourly and daily production data.</li>
<li>View films and images for extended periods of time while scanning.</li>
<li>Rework sub-quality scans to meet quality and project standards.</li>
<li>Maintain productivity levels and quality based on project requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure confidentiality and security of all scanned materials.</li>
<li>Take on additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED required.</li>
<li>Proficient in using computers and related products.</li>
<li>Prior experience with microfilm, microfiche, or document scanning is a plus but not required.</li>
<li>Familiarity with computers, scanners, and related office equipment.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to stay on task.</li>
<li>Good communication skills to interact effectively with coworkers and management.</li>
<li>Ability to work assigned shift schedule and meet production goals.</li>

PATIENT POPULATION: The patient population served can be all patients including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management (HIM), the HIM Document Imaging Specialist will complete the scanning process into the Enterprise Medical Record (EMR), enter deficiencies into the Medical Record Deficiency System and analyze the Medical Record for completeness. Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act. (Gov’t. Work Schedule: 1st shift
 
Job Summary
There are four main components to the position. There are opportunities for rotating staff among these components either on different days or during the duration of the shift.
 
1. Scanning - Prepped cartons are moved (one at a time) to scanner positions. The employee loads sheets into one of various types of scanners for processing and returns sheets to the box in the same order as received. Depending on the source material, sheets may be fed into scanners one at a time or in small batches. This is primarily a seated task but feeding scanners may be while standing,
2. Quality - Confirms accuracy of scanned documents.
3. Release/Index - Documentation of files and release of scanned material to customer.

The participant will handle all incoming mail and faxes. The participant is also responsible for making sure that the bills are returned to the client within a timely manner and understanding how to communicate with the supervisor any delays that would prevent the work from being returned in a timely manner. The participants are responsible for working as a team and assisting each other when required to make sure the goals are met or achieved. To successfully accomplish these responsibilities the Capture Center Specialist will work closely with the analyst and supervisor.
This is a hybrid position reporting to the Downers Grove office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Identifying and indexing all incoming faxes to the appropriate file, on a daily and timely basis</li>
<li>Scans paper documents and completes imaging process</li>
<li>Follows document destruction procedures</li>
<li>Adheres to HIPPA and other sensitive data regulations, policies, and procedures</li>
<li>Process information by compiling, coding, categorizing, and verifying information and data</li>
<li>Photocopying of original two-sided documents to covert to one sided documents</li>
<li>Opens and sorts incoming paper mail</li>
<li>Identify and classify documents or other electronic content according to characteristics such as document type, function, or other classification</li>
<li>Retrieves images</li>
<li>Operates data capture equipment safely</li>
<li>Operates data capture technology to import digitized documents into document management system</li>
<li>Search electronic sources, such as databases or repositories, or manual sources for information</li>
<li>Follow clearly established and defined procedures and know when to escalate for higher review</li>
<li>Challenges include complete high volumes of work while meeting quality, productivity, and timeliness standards</li>

PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
