Purpose: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Santa Clara University is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor beginning fall 2024. Responsibilities Tenure track faculty at SCU are teaching scholars who are expected to balance teaching, research and service. This is an in-person position. More specifically, duties include but are not limited to:
TEACHING 1. Teach lower- and upper-division courses in the major and university core curriculum, as assigned by the chair and subdisciplinary expertise. &nbsp;SCU is on the quarter system and a typical load is two courses per quarter. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: a. Conducting and appearing at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively. b. Assigning and evaluating written work, projects, and exams that align with course or core learning objectives and providing timely feedback to students. c. Administering numerical and narrative evaluations in each section for all courses.
 2. Develop and teach courses that contribute to curriculum development in the relevant degree program and/or the university core. &nbsp;Faculty teaching university core courses should follow an approved syllabus or work with the chair to design an appropriate syllabus for submission for approval from the relevant Faculty Core Curriculum Committee.
 3. Participate in assessment of student learning for courses in the department.
 4. Provide informed advice and mentoring to undergraduate students.
 5. Fulfill other instructional or academic duties as may be assigned by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences or by the Chair of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department.

The Journeyman Computer Scientist will provide analytic, systems integration, and data engineering support for developmental test and evaluation (DT&amp;E) of communications and mission systems on the E-6B and C-130J platforms. This position supports data analysis, system interoperability, cybersecurity evaluation, and test planning within a classified environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with systems administration, networked system analysis, software tool development, and data lifecycle management in a Naval aviation test environment.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Journeyman Computer Scientist will: 
<ul>
<li>Analyze complex data processing challenges and recommend innovative solutions supporting integrated developmental and operational test environments.</li>
<li>Support cybersecurity and cyber survivability analysis for airborne communication and mission systems across laboratory, ground, and flight test events.</li>
<li>Implement, upgrade, and monitor information assurance and security measures for test data infrastructure.</li>
<li>Review computer system capabilities, constraints, and workflows to optimize system architecture for test planning and execution.</li>
<li>Assist in the development of software tools and scripts for test automation, data analysis, and visualization of test results.</li>
<li>Evaluate system-level performance and data integrity across VLF and network-centric communication systems.</li>
<li>Integrate and manage test data from multiple sources to support test reporting, reliability analysis, and systems certification.</li>
<li>Participate in technical meetings and working groups to define test approaches, metrics, and data requirements.</li>
<li>Use Government test toolsets (e.g., iTEMS suite: iTrack, iReport, iTEST) to support test documentation and scheduling.</li>
<li>Support development of TEMP Part IV documentation and other resource summaries related to digital systems and tools. </li>

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field for a scientist with at least 3 years of professional relevant experience in software systems, data management, or IT systems engineering.

Job Description
We are currently looking for FAA experienced Computer Scientist / Electrical Engineer to support site activation activities at TAMR sites across the country. The candidate will have A MUST experience supporting the FAA with setup, configuration, deployment, and basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and peripheral devices for end users. This role focuses on efficient, repeatable IT support activities that ensure staff are up and running with minimal downtime. Ideal for fast-paced environments, onboarding scenarios, and off-site locations, the position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-service mindset.
 
Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.
 
Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
 
Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
 
Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.
 
Deploy, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software (laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices) in accordance with FAA security and configuration baselines.
