The Director of Nursing Clinical Support has a broad range of duties associated with the growth and development of clinical education courses in the School of Nursing, this position provides oversight, in collaboration with Continuing Education, for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) courses, which includes plans to transition students to credit. This position also coordinates with nursing faculty and leadership to offer certifications for students enrolled in the School of Nursing.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities

<li>Provides leadership and oversight for the Certified Nursing Assistant program; including working with clinical partners to pursue scholarships and partnership opportunities</li>
<li>Collaborates with the Program Director for Continuing Education in the hiring, onboarding, training, evaluation and scheduling of instructors for CNA</li>
<li>Oversees the curriculum for CNA and special projects as needed to meet accreditation/certification standards and ensure student success</li>
<li>Arranges Prometric Testing in collaboration with the testing center at MDC Medical Campus</li>
<li>Ensures the distribution of pertinent information to students enrolled in the CNA program to transition to degree-seeking programs</li>
<li>Collaborates with funding partners, recruitment, and Program Director of CE to increase enrollment of individuals in the community into the CNA program</li>
<li>Tracks enrollment data, graduation, and certification pass rates of students seeking credentials while identifying barriers to success</li>
<li>Works with the Program Director for Continuing Education to provide CNA program support</li>
<li>Coordinates with the Department Chairs and Director of Clinical Resources to appropriately staff each clinical course utilizing adjunct faculty when appropriate and visits clinical sites to ensure adjunct faculty are working with students to meet course and agency expectation</li>

Minimum Requirements

<li>Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in nursing education; or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and seven (7) years of experience in nursing education</li>

<li>Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures</li>

<li>Assist in the transport, transfer, ambulation, frequent positioning and providing ROM to residents. Use measures that ensure resident and associate safety. Request assistance when lifting, turning and moving residents, using lifting devices when needed. Transport to activities, meals and appointments as requested.</li>
<li>Help maintain personal dignity of each resident by ensuring privacy and treating them with respect. Understand and follow Resident Bill of Rights.</li>
<li>Apply safety devices as directed by the nurse, check safety devices every thirty minutes and release every two hours.</li>
<li>Ensure residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.</li>
<li>Ensure rooms are ready for new admissions.</li>
<li>Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of residents including ensuring rooms are ready for admit and assist resident with belongings upon discharge.</li>
<li>Greet newly admitted residents on admission and escort them to their room as necessary.</li>
<li>Complete Nurse Aide flow sheet during shift and according to instructions using only authorized abbreviations.</li>

Qualifications:

<li>Valid/Current MD Certified Nursing Assistant certification</li>
<li>Valid/Current CPR and First Aid Certifications</li>
<li>At least 1-year professional experience as a caregiver preferred</li>
<li>Open availability, able to work various shifts to include weekends</li>
<li>Compassionate, respectful, committed to excellency and a good attitude</li>
