Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing team at Warren Memorial Hospital. CMAs play a vital role in supporting clinic operations by assisting with patient examinations, documenting health information, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.</li>
<li>Prepare office notes/templates for upcoming patient appointments.</li>
<li>Accurately measure and document vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respirations, height, and weight, in the electronic medical record (EMR).</li>
<li>Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) following established protocols.</li>
<li>Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the physician’s examination.</li>
<li>Notify the physician of any significant health changes, hospitalizations, or urgent concerns.</li>
<li>Retrieve and organize necessary reports, hospital records, or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care.</li>
<li>Assists patients in completing required forms, such as health questionnaires and medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness.</li>
<li>Inform the physician when the patient is ready for examination.</li>
<li>Provide assistance to physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.</li>
<li>Answer telephone calls and assist with patient inquiries within the scope of knowledge and practice guidelines.</li>
<li>Schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals according to practice guidelines.</li>
<li>Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.</li>
<li>Monitor inventory levels, order, and restock clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations.</li>
<li>Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms.</li>
<li>Perform additional tasks or services as directed by the physician or administrator to support the team and ensure high-quality patient care.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Current certification as a CMA in the state of Virginia.</li>
<li>Active BLS / CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.</li>
<li>Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or other healthcare setting.</li>
<li>Comfortable using EKG machines, sphygmomanometers, and basic clinical tools.</li>
