PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To provide wrapping, stocking and customer service support for the Bakery Department. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.
NATURE AND SCOPE: Emphasis in this position is to consistently service customers and to prepare and display product to ensure maximum sales and product availability. Primary learning challenge is product knowledge, sequence of workflow and production speed. This position requires ongoing judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, listening skills, reading, standing, walking, moderate lifting, and operation of finishing and wrapping equipment. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs. The Bakery Manager or person in charge proved assignments and work direction. 
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BAKERY CLERK
As a Bakery Clerk, you join our front-of-the-house team and ensure our customers are taken care of! Our bakery has been open for 30 years, so we have a huge following and a lot of business! You help fulfill our customer orders and carefully package products. Utilizing your customer service skills, you also inform customers about our products and services by offering suggestions. As needed, you professionally handle any concerns or questions that may arise as well as assure the quality and freshness of our products. You also communicate over the phone, act as a barista, and perform cashier duties. You feel good about using your barista and retail skills to help our clients take home our delicious treats!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BAKERY CLERK

<li>Basic math skills</li>
<li>At least 16 years old</li>
<li>Ability to frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.</li>
</ul>

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A BAKERY CLERK
Our bakery is closed Monday to Wednesday so this retail / barista position typically works part-time hours from Thursday to Sunday, so weekends are required. This position also works full-time during summers.
