The University's new VCSA will partner with the Chancellor to shape the future for a strong and valued Student Affairs program. In support of the vision and mission of the University, the VCSA will lead a team to work effectively with students, both individually and by supporting student government, student organizations and clubs.
The successful candidate will be a talented and visionary individual who can work to develop innovative strategies in collaboration with academic and administrative departments to support and enhance student success. A master’s degree from an accredited institution is required, with a doctoral degree preferred. Also required is a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant and progressive senior-level administrative and leadership experience in higher education. The strongest candidates will also have demonstrated success in carrying out the responsibilities of a higher education administrator including personnel supervision, fiscal management, and external relations.
Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of student affairs at the university. This role focuses on enhancing the overall student experience, fostering a supportive and inclusive campus community, and promoting student success and well-being. The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs works collaboratively with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners, to develop and implement programs, services, and policies that meet the diverse needs of the student population.
The VCSA provides leadership for a variety of student support departments. The Student Affairs division is responsible for the traditional auxiliary units of a college campus, including University Housing, Dining Services, University Center (containing the bookstore and a textbook rental program), and Campus Recreation. Areas of responsibility for the student development support departments include: Dean of Students Office; Health Service; Counseling Services; Kimmel Belonging and Engagement Hub; an Early Childhood Center (an accredited daycare facility for children ages 2-5); and Career Development Center.

The administrative assistant delivers support services to selected San José State University students. <li>Maintains expenditure records by specific budget category. Creates and maintains computerized spreadsheets for budget monitoring and control. Reviews and verifies all computer printouts on program budget status prepared by SJSU Research Foundation accounting office.</li>
<li>Prepares quarterly budget reports and projected budget reports for the program director to monitor spending and the effective use of funds.</li>
<li>Assists the director in managing the program budgets and ensuring compliance with TRiO legislation and regulations as stated by the Department of Education.</li>
<li>Assists the director to ensure compliance in accordance with the grant contract with the U.S. Department of Education and SJSU Research Foundation policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Onboarding student staff and monitoring their daily tasks.</li>

The Position: The Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO (VPFA) reports directly to the President and is a key member of the President's leadership team. Responsibilities: Strategy and Financial Leadership:

Leadership &amp; Governance Dr. Damián J. Fernández is the 10th president of Warren Wilson College, assuming leadership on June 1, 2023.
A Cuban immigrant and first-generation college student who grew up in Puerto Rico, Fernández comes to Warren Wilson with more than 30 years of experience in teaching and leadership positions at both private and public institutions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general direction of the Payroll Manager and/or Chief Financial Officer. Expected to function independently by using personal initiative to plan, carry out, and balance individual assignments.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Promotes and supports the mission and values of the UFA.</li>
<li>Reviews timecards for accuracy and proper approvals. Prints Telestaff reports for back-up timecards. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree from a nationally accredited college or technical school, with an emphasis in human resources, accounting, finance, or business management.
Four years of directly related full-time experience in payroll and/or personnel administration.
Or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening test and background investigation.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with public sector or governmental payroll experience and UKG software experience.
Knowledge of FLSA pay practices as it relates to firefighters and the 207(k) exemption.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a general office environment during routine office hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be necessary. This is a full-time position scheduled to work 40 hours per week.

<li>Execute assignments requiring application of standard and advance engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out structural related engineering tasks. </li>
<li>Perform structural engineering analyses for design of energy infrastructure buildings &amp; building components, substation auxiliary support structures, deep foundations (helical piers, drilled shafts, micropiles, driven piles, anchors, and others), retaining structures, protective blast walls, and other heavy civil and energy related structural systems.</li>
<li>Perform finite element modeling for various concrete or steel structures and develop associated reports for client and permit review.</li>
<li>Interface closely with other project-level and senior leadership personnel within the company, including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission line, and civil engineering, GIS, and construction management team members. </li>
<li>Participate in oversight and management of field subcontractor activities, such as exploratory subsurface investigations, geotechnical drilling and testing, and/or forensics studies. </li>
<li>Develop written reports and/or provide verbal communication of information in a professional and appropriate manner under the direct supervision of a Senior Professional Engineer. </li>
<li>Perform occasional site visits to project sites located throughout North America. </li>
<li>Participation in sector focused professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events. </li>

Required Experience and Education

<li>Required - bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field </li>
