LICENSES-CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 1) The RCCD Chief of Police is a sworn peace officer of the State of California. California Penal Code §832.4(c) states: "Each police Chief, or any other person in charge of a local law enforcement agency, appointed on or after January 1, 1999, as a condition of continued employment, shall obtain the basic certificate issued by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training within two years of appointment." 2) Possession of California POST (or equivalent) Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Supervisory Certifications is required at the time of appointment. Possession of a California POST (or equivalent) Management Certificate is preferred at the time of appointment. 3) Valid California driver's license is required at the time of appointment. 4) Qualification with a firearm per state regulations. Normally, s/he can expect to experience extended periods of time sitting and sitting at a keyboard, walking, standing, driving, and climbing stairs. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will require being on-call 24/7, ability to respond at all hours, and will require flexibility in schedule to include periodic meetings and maintenance of non-traditional/routine office hours (i.e., outside of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday). The duties of this position are primarily conducted in a normal office environment. However, circumstances may require or result in spending extended time outdoors, potentially in extreme heat or cold, and with the possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals. Creates, cultivates, and nurtures cooperative working relationships with college and District personnel and students, and coordinates emergency preparedness with other District, College and campus units; conducts management and staff collaboration meetings. 8. Serves as the Training Compliance Officer so as to ensure the department adheres to regulations required of all Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) certified entities as well as all other officer training needs. 9. Reviews and recommends adjustments, as appropriate, to the department's organizational structure based on District and college needs; as appropriate, supervises, hires, directs, plans the work of, evaluates, and disciplines assigned personnel. 10. The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Finance at Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) has oversight of the financial, risk management and information technology operations of the organization. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Director of Finance is delegated a high degree of responsibility to recommend and implement fiscal policies and procedures in partnership with university colleagues to ensure that ASI operates appropriately within the financial policies of the California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees and the University, while sustaining sound business practices, and strengthening the financial health of ASI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Accounting 
<ul>
<li>Oversees the supervision and management of all aspects of the functional areas of the Accounting Services department, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, cashiering, fixed asset management, internal controls, policy development and implementation, legal, and audit compliance as well as maintenance of the general ledger.</li>
<li>Provides insight and education regarding ASI and CSU Sacramento budget and financial operations to the ASI Student Board of Directors, full-time staff, student-staff, campus partners and the student community at a level of their understanding.</li>
<li>Oversees the preparation of the annual financial statements and 990 for ASI and the Union WELL.</li>
<li>Facilitates implementation of quality standards and priority criteria for service processes.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) is now recruiting Registered Nurses (RNs) for one of DESC’s newest clinical programs, the Opioid Recovery and Care Access (ORCA) Center. The ORCA Center is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays. It will offer four overlapping types of services:
<ul>
<li>Care to individuals in stable condition who have experienced an opioid overdose, brought to the ORCA Center by first responders or transferred from local emergency departments</li>
<li>Rapid initiation of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including buprenorphine (sublingual and long-acting injectable) and methadone (under the “72-hour rule”, or Code of Federal regulations Title 21 §1306.07 (b)), for people with OUD, regardless of whether an opioid overdose has recently occurred.</li>
<li>Harm reduction counseling and OUD-related physical and behavioral health services, such as hepatitis C testing and treatment and HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.</li>
<li>Follow-up care, at the ORCA Center or at times field-based, with individuals who have started MOUD to ensure support in MOUD continuation.</li>
</ul>
 
The Registered Nurse (RN) acts as a member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing nursing services to adults who have experienced an opioid overdose and/or those with a diagnosis of Opioid Use Disorder. DESC’s ORCA Center provides 24-hour, low-barrier, enhanced supportive services. Here, the RN will provide in-the-moment, low-threshold medical access to clients who may not otherwise present to more traditional clinics. Work is done under the supervision of the ORCA Nurse Supervisor, Senior Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director.
 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Provide clinical assessments, RN case management, medical monitoring, wound care and other treatments, intervention in medical emergencies, and linkages to behavioral health treatment and primary care.</li>
<li>Provide individualized medication management services and education as needed, and ongoing assessment of mental status and the impacts of current treatment.</li>
<li>Perform initial history and physical of client; documenting any client identified concerns, vital signs, and mental health status exams/AIMs assessments.</li>
<li>Reconcile medication and medical record with hospitals, other outpatient mental health clinics, and primary care facilities, including collecting appropriate Release of Information requests (ROIs) as needed.</li>
<li>Provide / coordinate chronic disease management; educate client re: self-care and medication management.</li>
<li>Administer oral medication, injections, and provide wound care within scope of practice and plan of care or as prescribed by eligible provider.</li>
<li>Be able to use critical thinking, clinical judgment, patience, and flexibility in frequent contacts with clients. Have strong communication and customer service skills.</li>
<li>Assess clients for a range of health care needs and facilitate linkage and on-going connection to relevant urgent, primary and specialty health services to ensure continuity of care. Advocate for patients' access to a variety of community resources and services.</li>
<li>Oversee on-site medication monitoring services.</li>

In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, informs, educates and supports staff in understanding the emotional, psychological and behavioral impact of Chronic Kidney Disease on the patient and family to ensure comprehensive quality care of our patients. Supports the Fresenius Kidney Care (FKC) commitment to the Quality Indicators and Outcomes and Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI) Activities, including those related to patient satisfaction and quality of life and actively participates in process improvement activities that enhance the likelihood that patients will achieve the FKC Quality Goals. This is an entry level MSW role.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Patient Assessment / Care Planning / Counseling
<ul>
<li>As a member of the interdisciplinary team, assesses patients' psychosocial status, strengths and areas of need that may affect rehabilitation and optimal treatment outcomes as part of the comprehensive patient assessment. </li>
<li>Participates in care planning in collaboration with the patient and healthcare team to identify effective interventions that will help the patient meet rehabilitation, treatment goals, and improve quality of life.</li>
<li>Utilizes FKC patient education programs, established social work theory and methods, social work focused interventions, and quality of life measurement instruments as part of assessment and care planning to address barriers and meet patient treatment goals.</li>
<li>Provides monitoring and interventions for the patient to adjust to dialysis and achieve optimal psychosocial status and quality of life.</li>
<li>Provides supportive counseling services to patients as permitted within the scope of their clinical training and state license.</li>
<li>Provides educational and goal directed counseling to patients who are seeking transplant.</li>
<li>Provides information and assists the team and patient with referral to community resources (home health services, vocational rehabilitation, etc.) to facilitate optimal treatment outcomes.</li>
<li>Maintains current knowledge regarding local vocational/educational rehabilitation programs and assist patients with referral and access to vocational rehabilitation to enable them to remain employed, become employed or receive education. </li>
<li>Assesses patient awareness of advance directives; assists with accessing advance directive forms/information and facilitates discussion of advance directive wishes, if necessary, with the healthcare team and the patient's family/support persons.</li>
<li>In collaboration with the physician and nurse, participates in the discussion of patient DNR status in the facility to ensure patient and/or family understand and make an informed decision about their care.</li>
<li>Knowledgeable of and adheres to FMCNA Social Work Policy and Measuring Patient Physical and Mental Function Policy, including documentation.</li>
<li>Documents based on MSW interaction and interventions provided to patient and/or family. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Quality
<ul>
<li>Provides psychosocial support and/or Social Work Focused Interventions to address non-adherence, quality outcome, and quality of life concerns for all patients based on acuity level.</li>
<li>Participates in monthly Quality review meetings with the interdisciplinary team. Reports on quality indicators related to adherence, such as Missed and Shortened Treatments, Quality of Life Trends, and Service Recovery. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Patient Education
<ul>
<li>Assesses patient knowledge of kidney disease for barriers that may affect adherence to treatment. Works with patient, family and health care team to provide education tailored to the patient’s learning style, communication barriers, and needs.</li>
<li>With other members of the interdisciplinary team, provides appropriate information about all treatment modalities.</li>
<li>Facilitates the transplant referral process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team on transplant waitlist management.</li>
<li>Provides ongoing education to patient/family regarding psychosocial issues related to End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and all support services that are available. </li>
<li>Reviews patient rights and responsibilities, grievance information (company and network) and other facilities policies with patient and/or the patients’ representative to ensure patients’ understanding of the rights and expectations of them.</li>
<li>Collaborates with the team on appropriate QAI activities.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Patient Admission and Continuity of Care
<ul>
<li>Reviews Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Grievance Procedure &amp; Important Numbers Handout, FKC Non-discrimination policy, DNR Statement (if applicable) and address any immediate needs/concerns.</li>
<li>Understands the referral and admission process and supports the clinic in regard to the patient needs for scheduling to maximize adherence and adjustment.</li>
<li>The Social Worker will interview the patient to identify root causes or concerns for the discharge request, (i.e. transfer to hospice, relocation, dissatisfaction with services or staff) and share causes/concerns with operational leadership.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Insurance and Financial Assistance
<ul>
<li>Collaborates and functions as a liaison for patient with Insurance Coordinators to address issues related to insurance. </li>
<li>In collaboration with Insurance Coordinators, provides information and education to patients about payment to dialysis (federal, state, commercial insurance, state renal programs, AKF HIPP, and entitlement programs).</li>
<li>Collaborates with the Insurance Coordinator of any changes to patient state that impacts insurance i.e. transplantation, discharged, loss of coverage, or extended travel.</li>
<li>Refers patients to patient billing solutions (PBS) department for questions/concerns in regard to treatment related bills</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Staff Related
<ul>
<li>Assists with interview process and decision to hire new personnel if requested by SW Manager/Senior Manager. </li>
<li>Works with the administrative support staff to maintain updated patient resource lists (e.g. maintain updated list of transportation resources). </li>
<li>Provides training to staff pertaining to psychosocial topics as needed. </li>
<li>Contributes and participates with weekly team huddles. Discusses any urgent patient issues with staff. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Adheres to work defined caseload guidelines based on state regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>
