These activities are designed to inform public policy, national forest management, community-based forestry, and efforts to build residence in rural and urban communities. While most of the projects focus on Oregon, the research has broad relevance across the American West. This position will be based in Eugene, Oregon with expectation of travel for fieldwork. <li>Master's degree (or bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant professional experience) in applied natural resource social science in fields such as forestry, environmental studies, public policy, geography, political science, rural sociology, history, planning, anthropology or other related fields. <li>Experience with some combination of natural resource policy and management, community-government relations, collaboration, climate change, sustainable rural development, forestry or ecology, land use or transportation policy, green building, health policy, or a related field. Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor of Environmental Science

The Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) seeks to appoint an assistant or associate professor on the tenure track to teach, conduct research, and engage with practitioners in the interdisciplinary field of real estate. The successful candidate will play a major role in Harvard’s new one-year Master in Real Estate (MRE) degree program, which covers the traditional skills and knowledge required of all real estate professionals as well as ways in which well-designed real estate can advance beneficial spatial, social, and environmental outcomes. Candidates for the position may have educational backgrounds in a variety of fields such as finance, planning, law, economics, design, engineering, or other related fields, and are expected to have a Ph.D. or comparable terminal degree. The successful candidate will have the ability to interact fruitfully with students and faculty in the GSD’s Department of Urban Planning and Design, where the&nbsp;MRE&nbsp;program is lodged, and students and faculty with other departments and programs at the school. <li>Develop strategies to ensure the necessary research infrastructure is available and aligned with existing research strengths and emerging research opportunities.</li>

<li>Participate on the steering committee for the Office of Business Innovation, the university’s central resource for student entrepreneurship, technology commercialization and corporate relations.</li>
<li>Serve as a member of the leadership team for the University Research Corridor, an alliance of Michigan’s three leading research institutions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the senior leadership team of the university, sharing common university-wide goals and accountability with other team members.</li>
<li>Develop, oversee, implement, fund and assess research initiatives as identified in and aligned with the university’s strategic plan; participate in strategic planning efforts.</li>
<li>Advise the President, Provost and Deans on research initiatives, policy and operations.</li>
