Wedgewood Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate, organized, and customer-focused Concierge to join our team. As the first point of contact for many of our residents and families, you'll play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive experience from admission through discharge. Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Admissions Department to prepare resident rooms prior to admission, ensuring all required equipment (beds, oxygen, and other essentials) is available.

Prepare resident rooms by confirming belongings have been removed, terminal cleaning has been completed, and all room amenities—including lights, call bells, and televisions—are functioning properly.

Assemble welcome baskets with essential items for new residents.

Greet new residents and their families, escort residents to their rooms, and provide a warm, welcoming experience.

Offer emotional support and assistance to residents and families by listening to concerns and helping resolve issues.

Respond to resident call bells when appropriate or promptly notify nursing staff to ensure resident needs are met.

Address resident concerns through the facility's grievance process and ensure timely follow-up.

Build positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and interdisciplinary staff.

Assist with facility tours, room changes, and admissions during evenings or when Admissions staff is unavailable.

Complete concierge follow-up documentation within 48 business hours of admission and prior to planned discharges.

Email daily progress reports to the administrative team, identifying resident concerns and trending issues.

Coordinate with the Laundry Department to retrieve belongings for residents returning from the hospital.

Prepare and distribute discharge gift bags and order supplies as needed.

Monitor and coordinate resident smoking schedules in accordance with facility policies.

Attend required in-service trainings, staff meetings, and Resident Council meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting required.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Basic computer and email proficiency preferred.
