Atlantic Eye Associates is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Associate Optometrist to join our growing private practice in Hampstead, North Carolina.

Build a Long-Term Career with Ownership Potential

We're looking for more than an employee—we're looking for a future partner. For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to pursue practice ownership through a buy-in opportunity after approximately three to five years, based on performance, mutual fit, and long-term practice goals.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose and manage ocular disease and vision conditions.
  • Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction solutions.
  • Manage patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye syndrome, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other ocular conditions.
  • Perform contact lens evaluations and fittings.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, eye health, and preventative care.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic technology including OCT, retinal imaging, visual fields, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collaborate closely with opticians, technicians, and support staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
  • Build long-term patient relationships through outstanding clinical care and communication.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry.
  • Active North Carolina Optometry License.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in private practice optometry.
  • Experience diagnosing and managing ocular disease.
  • Myopia management is a plus.
  • Specialty contact lens fitting experience is a plus.
  • Dry eye management experience.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
  • Interest in developing long-term patient relationships.
