Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
This role involves picking and packing a wide variety of products in a non–climate-controlled warehouse, ranging in size from small electronics to large flat-screen televisions. You will work primarily on a packing line, matching product numbers and labels, and moving items throughout the warehouse using standard material-handling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Pick and pack products of various sizes, from small items to large flat-screen televisions, according to work orders and instructions.
- Work on a packing line for the majority of the shift, standing in one place to package products accurately and efficiently.
- Match product numbers, labels, and documentation to ensure correct items are picked, packed, and shipped.
- Use RF scanners to locate, pick, and track inventory within the warehouse.
- Handle material throughout the warehouse, including loading, stacking, and organizing products in designated areas.
- Operate pallet jacks and, if qualified, sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move pallets and larger loads safely.
- Support shipping operations by preparing products for shipment, including labeling, packaging, and staging orders.
- Maintain flexibility in daily tasks and assist in different areas of the warehouse as needed based on workload.
- Follow safety guidelines and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe and orderly work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet productivity goals and support peak season demands.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with picking, packing, and general warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with RF scan procedures for inventory and order picking.
- Ability to stand in one place for extended periods while working on a packing line.
- Experience with material handling, including loading, stacking, and order picking.
- Ability to use pallet jacks safely and effectively.
- Basic comfort working with technology such as RF scanners.
- Attention to detail when matching numbers, labels, and product information.
- Ability to work in a non–climate-controlled environment.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work assigned shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word is preferable.
- 1+ years of stand-up forklift experience is preferred and may qualify you for a forklift position from the start.
- Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Previous experience in shipping, packaging, labeling, and order picking.
- Comfort working with a wide variety of products and adapting to changing tasks.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with warehouse staff.
Why Work Here?
You will join a small warehouse team that offers a genuine family feel and a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. The company provides flexibility with shifts to help align work schedules with personal needs and maintains a very flexible attendance approach, aiming to work with employees rather than against them. You will be part of a team that grows during peak seasons, offering opportunities to contribute in a dynamic environment while benefiting from a relaxed and approachable culture.
Work Environment
This role is based in a non–climate-controlled warehouse that houses over 7,500 different products in a single location. Night shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The core warehouse team is around 30 people during normal periods and can grow to about 50 employees during peak season from October to December. The dress code is relaxed and practical: closed-toe shoes, pants, and a T-shirt are required, and any offensive tattoos must be covered. You will work primarily on your feet, often on a packing line, using RF scanners, pallet jacks, and, where applicable, sit-down or stand-up forklifts.
