Assembler I – General
Location: Covington, GA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Overtime: Required as business needs dictate
Position Overview
We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Assemblers to join a manufacturing team in Covington, GA. This position is responsible for performing assembly, inspection, material handling, and quality-related tasks while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will be committed to producing quality products, maintaining accurate documentation, and working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble products by following established work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Sort, inspect, and verify materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate light manufacturing equipment and material handling equipment as required.
- Move materials, parts, assemblies, and scrap products throughout the facility using handcarts and other equipment.
- Read rulers and measuring devices to verify product specifications.
- Complete quality records and production documentation accurately.
- Maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and quality standards.
- Follow all safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Perform routine production tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with additional production duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Minimum of one continuous year of experience with the same employer in a warehouse, manufacturing, or quality environment.
- Ability to read, write, and understand documents written in English.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read rulers and accurately inspect products.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a metrics-driven production environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands for repetitive tasks including grasping, handling, picking, and assembly work.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Ability to work in hot summer conditions (no air conditioning) and cold winter conditions (limited heating).
Additional Requirements
- Must be available and willing to work overtime.
- Candidates who previously worked for BD/Bard are not eligible for this position.
- Relatives are not permitted to work together in this department.
