Most service occurs at the service site including 1-3 hours per week to complete AmeriCorps requirements. Qualifications:

<li>Must meet the qualifications for Assistant Teacher under DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers</li>
<li>Experience working with children ages 5–12 preferred</li>
<li>A positive attitude and a passion for working with school-age kids</li>
<li>Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Patience, flexibility, and creativity are a must</li>
<li>Must demonstrate the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility</li>
<li>Must complete a health examination and fingerprint background check prior to employment</li>

The most immediate impression of the Y is based on the cleanliness of our facility. Responsibilities for this position include deep cleaning all areas of the facility, shampooing carpets, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing toilets and sinks, steam cleaning showers, and trash disposal. Typical schedule consists of weekday evenings and rotating weekend day shifts.
Requirements:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Experience in a commercial cleaning environment or closely-related field preferred.</li>
<li>Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work without direct supervision.</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Ability to lift, carry, push or pull a minimum of 10lbs frequently throughout the shift.</li>
<li>Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.</li>
<li>Ability to reach forward and overhead, bend, and stoop frequently throughout the shift.</li>
