<li>Work with Marketing to assist with planning marketing events to promote the community.</li>
<li>Participate with the Executive Director in developing a budget for the department.</li>
<li>Foster family and community support of the activity program (e.g., through newsletters, networking, and activities that bring family or community members into the facility).</li>
<li>Contribute to the community's efforts to maintain and/or improve the quality of care through participation.</li>
<li>Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community, which may include driving a company vehicle.</li>

Requirements:
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Education and certifications:
<ul>
<li>A High School degree is required.</li>
<li>An associate degree or higher in gerontology, business, human services, or a related field is preferred.</li>
</ul>
Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
<ul>
<li>At least three (3) years of experience in designing and leading life-enrichment activities for seniors in Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and/or Memory Care (MC) settings is required.</li>
<li>At least one (1) year of leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare management in a supervisory role is preferred.</li>
<li>Training or at least 1 year in dementia care is a plus (for memory care communities).</li>
<li>Previous event planning experience is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Creativity, empathy, patience, and passion for helping others.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to motivate.</li>
<li>Knowledge of various computer systems, particularly Excel, Word, and Canva.</li>
<li>Ability to coordinate and conduct meetings.</li>
</ul>

Wilkes University invites applicants for part time positions in the SHINE afterschool program for 2024-2025 school year. 
Luzerne County SHINE is a nationally recognized program that provides hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) instructional activities to students in 1st through 8th grade in six local school districts. You can learn more about the program by clicking here.
SHINE is currently seeking the following professionals to join our team:
<ul>
<li>Lead Teachers - Oversee staff/curriculum and maintain student records. Communicate with families and school administration. Responsible for students well-being under their charge during program hours. Bachelor's Degree and current Pennsylvania Teacher certification required.</li>
<li>Teachers - Support the lead teacher, assist with curriculum development and student management. Bachelor's Degree and current Pennsylvania Teacher certification required. </li>
<li>Educational Support Staff - Assist teacher in planning and carrying out lessons. Desire to work in or experience in an educational setting is a plus. No Teaching certificate required. Bachelor's Degree in related field required. </li>
<li>Substitute Teachers - Bachelor's Degree and current Pennsylvania Teacher certification required. </li>
<li>Teacher Assistants/Paraprofessionals - Assist with classroom management, activities, food service, and have the opportunity to assist with project development. Current college students and/or individuals with experience working with children may apply.</li>

Program begins immediately following day school dismissal. All positions average 10-15 hours per week. Staff are required to work 2 or 4 days per week between the hours of 3:15-6:30, Monday through Thursday.
