GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Provide assessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses; or develop and implement specific services in the community. Act as a task supervisor for interns and staff, provide clinical supervision to mental health professionals, to perform various advanced, specialized clinical and treatment services for individuals receiving services and their families. 
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Work under the general supervision of a manager or supervisor, who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results for overall effectiveness. Per Oregon Health Authority, Behavioral Health Services Rule 309-019-0130: Program staff providing direct services shall receive clinical supervision by a qualified clinical supervisor related to the development, implementation, and outcome of services, documentation of two hours per month of supervision for each individual supervised.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED Primary supervision of employees is not a responsibility of this classification; however, positions may act as lead workers, as defined in the Marion County Personnel Rules. May assist in the supervision of interns and volunteers.
Typical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following

Therapy

<li>Provide individual and group therapy to individuals using a variety of evidence-based practices as clinically indicated, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPI), and Motivational Interviewing. </li>
<li>Provide advanced and specialized therapeutic interventions to individuals, such as EMDR, advanced DBT, ACT, etc.</li>
<li>Work independently to provide crisis assessment and specific intervention services, including development of safety/crisis plans and suicide and self-harm risk assessments. </li>
</ul>
Case Management &amp; Consultation 
<ul>
<li>Determine individual service needs, eligibility, and appropriateness of services. </li>
<li>Provide case management to include making referrals and coordinating with other agencies to obtain services and resources for individuals; and advocacy and brokerage on behalf of client to access community resources, benefits, and entitlements. </li>
<li>Provides individual case specific consultation to other providers and community partners, which may include recommendations for risk reduction.</li>
<li>Work on development of individuals' natural supports.</li>
<li>May make recommendations for the courts regarding individual status, including risk factors and level of functioning.</li>
</ul>
Assessments &amp; Treatment Planning 
<ul>
<li>Provide intake and annual comprehensive mental health assessments, including assessing mental health and/or behavioral symptoms using a variety of standard assessment tools, individual functional skills, determining treatment needs, developing individualized treatment plans, developing crisis prevention plans, and directing provision of treatment services. </li>
<li>Assess, develop, and direct individual mental health, functional skills, and behavioral symptoms using various standard assessment tools and customized individual treatment plans.</li>
</ul>
Licensed Duties 
<ul>
<li>Act as a lead clinician, providing clinical consultation and assistance to interns and other staff members, including acting as a lead clinician in specific treatment areas requiring advanced training or expertise. </li>
<li>Review and evaluate treatment plans and therapeutic techniques of other staff. </li>
<li>Analyze individuals' symptoms and advice less experienced staff on appropriate treatment, changes in the treatment plan, and/or diagnosis. </li>
<li>May assist in the supervision of student interns and volunteers. </li>
<li>May assist with clinical supervision for mental health professionals. </li>
<li>Coordinate treatment or other educational and consultative services with community agencies and programs. </li>
<li>Provide mental health and/or substance use disorders education and training to other staff, outside professionals, and the community.</li>

Documentation

<li>Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Federal, State, County, and treatment program requirements under the direction of the clinical supervisor. </li>
<li>Meet performance expectations for time and billing standards.</li>

Miscellaneous
<ul>
<li>Work with a team of clinicians and supervisor for treatment planning, staff and departmental meetings, and trainings.</li>
<li>Engage in clinical supervision with a qualified clinical supervisor related to the development, implementation, and outcome of services. </li>
<li>May represent the agency on internal or external committees as requested by the supervisor.</li>

Requirements for the Position
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
<li>Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field; OR</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon; AND</li>
<li>One year of postgraduate degree experience in the behavioral health field.</li>
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

<li>State of Oregon licensure, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC) or Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT).</li>

Mental Health Therapist, Licensed - Adult Outpatient - Relocation Offered

The Psychiatric Crisis Center has been working to expand by offering bilingual/bicultural services at our Woodburn office. The Mental Health Specialist in this position will provide crisis assessments to individuals in need as well as case management, resource identification, and referral options. This position will require a motivated individual to learn about the available community services to provide mental health well-being. The individual in this position will possess a desire to be creative in matching individuals to available services while educating the community about the various services we provide at the Crisis Center. This position provides services to monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals; therefore, fluent bilingual Spanish/English skills are required.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Crisis Clinician 2: Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is to provide assessment and treatment services; crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or to develop and implement specific services in the community.
Crisis Clinician 1: Plans and carries out recreational, social and skills training activities; performs case management and counseling functions with Adults in Custody (AIC); facilitates counseling and/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required. Primary responsibility of this class is case management and counseling, without responsibility for developing and implementing specific programs in the community.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Crisis Clinician 2 and 1: Works under the supervision of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED Crisis Clinician 2 and 1: Supervision of others is not a responsibility of positions in this classification. Crisis Clinician 2 may act as Clinical Supervisor designee when needed. May assist in the supervision of practicum students and/or volunteers.
Typical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following
Counseling to Crisis Clients: Provide counseling by telephone or in-person to individuals and/or their families or concerned others. Intervene with both children and adults. Presenting problems covering the full range of personal needs and include thoughts/plans or violence toward others, and major psychiatric illness. Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling. This work is done at two different locations each day (at the Salem Hospital Emergency Dept. and at PCC), so driving is required.
Assessment of Mental Status: Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service. Screen individual for psychiatric hospitalization.
Planning Development: Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self.
Community Coordination: Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies in order to make referrals appropriately. See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow-up work as needed, to make certain that client's needs are being met.
Other:
<ul>
<li>Advocacy for Client's Rights: Provide advocacy for client rights, ethical consideration, needs for service and least restrictive care-intervention.</li>
<li>Requests for information: Respond to requests for information regarding clients not currently in the CSS, requiring a thorough knowledge of laws governing the release of confidential information.</li>
<li>Attend monthly PCC team meeting.</li>

<li>Crisis Clinician 2 Only: In addition to the educational requirements above, the Crisis Clinician 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.</li>
PREFERENCES Preference will be awarded to candidates who are LCSW, CSWA or eligible for LCSW. Qualified candidates will be eligible for licensure supervision if hired.
AUTO-PROMOTE AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF CLASSIFICATION Individuals hired as a Crisis Clinician 1 will auto-promote, as noted in Article 4 in the Marion County personnel rules, to the classification of Crisis Clinician 2 upon satisfactorily completing one-year, post master's degree, of service as a Crisis Clinician 1. (One-year of work experience is equal to 2080 hours)
