As a Job Coach with Harbor Crew, you’ll lead a hardworking team of individuals with disabilities in maintaining the Santa Barbara Harbor. You’ll provide hands-on training, mentorship, and encouragement, helping crew members gain work experience and build independence. Responsibilities

Physical Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods. </li>
<li>Comfortable ascending and descending stairs. </li>

<li>Proficiency in speaking, reading, hearing, and understanding technical written materials. </li>

Qualifications:

<li>High school diploma or equivalent </li>
<li>At least one (1) year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred </li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding persons served and other related information </li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li>
<li>Technical Proficiency: Ability to effectively navigate and utilize iPad features and applications for daily tasks, including managing schedules, communication, and data entry. </li>
<li>Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions </li>
<li>Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities </li>
<li>Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding because people served may have intellectual, emotional, or behavioral challenges, in addition to physical limitations </li>
<li>May need to be available during any disasters, per disaster plan </li>
<li>Must have reliable phone </li>

Job Description
TITLE: Direct Support Professional, Independent and Supported Living Services
Job Type: Part - Time 
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Immediate Supervisor: Program Manager, Independent and Supported Living Services 
Supervision Exercised: None
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program Director and Manager, this position is responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans that will lead to or continue to promote independence and personal skills and assist in providing a safe and secure home environment for persons served in our Supported and Independent Living program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Provide individualized coaching in daily living skills </li>
<li>Provide education and support in the use of community resources </li>
<li>Maintain accurate and current records in ID notes and communication logs regarding information relevant to Individual Service Plans </li>
<li>Support and assist persons served in following their daily activity schedule including household meal preparation, maintaining sanitary and orderly conditions in their home, other household tasks, budgeting, ledgers, and transportation as necessary </li>
<li>Prompt and assist persons served in medication management </li>
<li>Teach adaptive living skills and monitor the extent to which they are followed </li>
<li>Participate in in-service training and staff meetings to facilitate professional development </li>
<li>Assist participants in all aspects of personal care, including medical/dental appointments </li>
<li>Communicate concerns related to program participant needs to supervisor in a timely manner </li>
<li>Assists individuals in attending social activities to further social skills </li>
<li>Train program participants to access public transportation and assist persons served in accessing benefits such as Social Security, SSI, IHSS and Section 8 housing </li>
<li>Assist persons served in weight bearing and non-weight bearing transfers </li>
<li>Use crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations when persons served are in danger of injuring themselves or others </li>
<li>Complies with all Momentum WORK, Inc. and OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations </li>
<li>Must be able to transport participants, unless waived by the Executive Director. </li>
<li>Other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects on an as needed basis</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
