Job Summary: Alsco is a privately-held company that is a leader in the textile services industry. Alsco’s internal IT department provides remote technical support for approximately 80 branch locations throughout the US and Canada. Alsco is seeking a Technology Development Installer and Trainer who can use exceptional troubleshooting, and training skills as well as a keen attention to detail to assist with the installation, support and maintenance of technical applications and equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the research, development, implementation and training of new software and hardware technologies in a Unix/Windows environment.

- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.

- Respond to telephone calls, email, web and personnel requests for technical support.

- Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.

- Provide technical support to end users on a variety of issues.

- Evaluate and document new or changed computer systems.

- Perform other duties as assigned by Technology Development Supervisor and Management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management skills, and strong attention to detail and must present a positive and well-groomed appearance.

- Proven ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively relate to all levels of end-users as well as software and hardware developers.

- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to research/troubleshoot a variety of projects.

- Ability to easily learn new skills and keep up-to-date with latest technological advancements.

- Software - Basic knowledge of configuration settings in Windows 7, 8 and 10 and Microsoft Office 2010, 2013 & Office 365. Basic knowledge of installation/un-installation procedures of Windows Updates and other PC Software.

- Networking - Basic knowledge of routers, switches, other networked devices and WAN circuits. Ability to configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, RAS and VPN connections; familiar with cabling standards CAT 5, 6, RJ45 and RJ11 termination procedures and punch-down procedures.

- A minimum of 2 years of IT Technical Support or Training Experience and 2 years of systems installation experience preferred.

Education:

- High School graduation or similar experience and some basic technical knowledge and skills related to above qualifications.

Travel Requirements:

- Ability to travel 50% of the time to company owned and operated locations in the US and Canada.

- Ability to rent a vehicle at any major US and Canadian Rental Facility.

- Ability to travel by air outside of the United States.

Typical Physical Activity:

- Physical Demands consist of standing for long periods of time, sitting for long periods of time, walking, stooping, fine dexterity, driving, operating man lifts, climbing ladders, working in high places, traveling by plane or vehicle, grasping, reading, speaking, hearing and lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Physical Requirements consist of being able to perform the physical demands.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

- General office environments or areas of a typical industrial laundry facility often times in extreme temperatures.
