Caregiver Responsibilities
Caregivers at Charis Hearts provide non-medical in-home and/or community care based on the Client Service Plan. Responsibilities may include:

The PCA works under the supervision of aBSC and plays a critical role in helping children develop communication, social, and self-regulation skills.

Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Implement individualized behavioral treatment plans developed by the supervising BSC.</li>
<li>Support children with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs across home, clinic, and community settings.</li>
<li>Teach and reinforce coping strategies, self-help skills, and replacement behaviors.</li>
<li>Use positive reinforcement, modeling, and trauma-informed care practices.</li>
<li>Maintain detailed and timely session notes and progress documentation.</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and clinical supervisors.</li>
<li>Promote skill generalization across environments. </li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Education: No degree required (degree preferred).</li>
<li>Training: 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training required.</li>
<li>Experience: PCA experience in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) required.</li>
<li>Ability to remain calm, supportive, and solution-focused during behavioral incidents.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.</li>
<li>High level of professionalism, integrity, and dependability.</li>

<li>FBI Fingerprint Clearance</li>
<li>PA Child Abuse Clearance</li>
<li>PA Criminal Background Check</li>
</ul>

<li>Reliable transportation to community sites (travel may be required between client homes, clinics, or childcare centers)</li>
</ul>
