Position Summary
The Mail Room Clerk is responsible for receiving, logging, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and packages. This role ensures accurate tracking and timely delivery while maintaining a high level of organization and customer service. The position involves regular interaction with vendors and company associates in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (60-minute lunch)
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
•Receive and log incoming packages from carriers such as UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, and others
•Accurately record package details and route items to the appropriate recipient or department
•Notify recipients via email when packages are ready for pickup
•Label packages with recipient name and date, and organize them on designated mail center shelves
•Maintain accurate records and tracking of all incoming deliveries
Secondary Duties
•Assist with mail sorting and distribution
•Provide support to associates and guests requiring assistance in the mail center
•Help maintain efficient daily operations and workflow
•Ensure the mail center remains clean, organized, and safe
•Provide support to company personnel as requested/required
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent required
•Previous experience in mailroom, shipping/receiving, or logistics preferred
Key Competencies
•Strong computer skills
•Familiarity with third-party ticketing or tracking systems
•Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
•Knowledge of postage meter operation (or willingness to learn)
•Strong organizational skills
•Excellent customer service and communication abilities
•Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
•Frequent standing, walking, bending, and pushing heavy carts
•Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the shift
