Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care

Job Summary\n

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care to join our healthcare team. The Travel Wound Care RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care treatment plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex wounds. This position requires flexibility to work at various healthcare facilities while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal healing and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, burns, and traumatic wounds.
  • \n

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
  • \n

  • Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement assistance, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), and ostomy care within scope of practice.
  • \n

  • Monitor wound healing progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • \n

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound prevention, treatment, nutrition, and home care.
  • \n

  • Provide education and support to nursing staff regarding wound prevention protocols and best practices.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • \n

  • Participate in pressure injury prevention programs and quality improvement initiatives.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
  • \n

  • Adapt quickly to new clinical environments and facility-specific policies during travel assignments.
  • \n

Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment or compact multistate license.
  • \n

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • \n

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, including at least 1 year of wound care experience.
  • \n

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • \n

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required by some facilities.
  • \n

  • Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, CWON, CWOCN, or equivalent) preferred or required depending on assignment.
  • \n

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
  • \n
