Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology
Location: Neptune, New Jersey (Onsite)
Duration: 13 Weeks - Contract
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in an inpatient oncology setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, supporting physicians, and implementing individualized care plans tailored to patients with complex oncology needs, including leukemia and lymphoma.
The RN will provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing standards while ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patient needs and clinical priorities.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and manage individualized care plans through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and monitor patient responses.
- Administer and manage treatments, including IV therapies and medications.
- Document patient care in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and support innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing models.
- Prioritize patient needs based on acuity and clinical conditions.
- Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute adult oncology (inpatient setting).
- Specialized experience in leukemia and lymphoma care.
- Strong clinical skills in:
- IV insertion
- Phlebotomy
- Basic nursing procedures
- Experience in Oncology / Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS Tele) environments.
Education
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certifications & Licensure
Required:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS Certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Compact License
- Chemotherapy Certification
Preferred:
- Telemetry Certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of oncology nursing practices and patient care standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak)
