RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

<li>To operate a tractor-trailer, Tractor-Flat Bed, and/or Tractor Tanker in a local and over-the-road capacity, delivering goods to customers in a safe and efficient manner.</li>
<li>Responsible for compliance with all safety rules, hazardous material and hazardous waste handling procedures.</li>

GENERAL DUTIES: 
<ul>
<li>Keeps informed of safety and operating procedures.</li>
<li>Participates in safety meetings and toolbox sessions to continuously improve the safety performance of the employees and the company. </li>
<li>Load or assist in loading vehicle with materials.</li>
<li>Transport load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.</li>
<li>Unload shipment at delivery sites following standard safety practices.</li>
<li>Obtain shipping Bill of Lading, necessary signatures and any related records as required and returns completed paperwork to the transportation office.</li>
<li>Comply with all Circle Transport, Inc., Alexander Chemical, and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Report customer related problems, concerns, etc. to management.</li>
<li>Perform utility duties and other responsibilities as assigned.</li>
<li>Performs housekeeping duties necessary to maintain company standards and actively participates in the housekeeping program.</li>
<li>Attends and actively participates in training and other meetings to enhance safety, production, and quality of company operations.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul>
<li>Valid interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, including cleared background check, required for this position. </li>
<li>5+ years of accident-free experience in bulk liquid tank deliveries. </li>
<li>No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs convictions within the last ten (10) years.</li>
<li>No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.</li>
<li>No preventable DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten (10) years.</li>
<li>No preventable accidents resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history.</li>
<li>Tact and diplomacy required with customer personnel at delivery points. </li>
<li>Requires high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in control of vehicle in preventing damage to material and/or equipment. </li>
<li>Frequently sitting in vehicle for long periods of time. </li>
<li>Must meet DOT physical medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening, as a safety sensitive employee subject to random substance abuse screening under company and FMCSA policy. </li>
<li>Strong understanding of safety practices and principles.</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is very important. </li>
<li>Must work effectively in dynamic work environment.</li>

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
<ul>
<li>Must have sufficient mobility to access all areas of the plant site as well as customer delivery locations. </li>
<li>This will involve climbing/descending ladders and stairways. </li>
<li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Regularly required to move up to 4,000 lbs. with material handling equipment.</li>
<li>Exposed to noise, dust, heat, cold, and hazardous materials requiring use of safety equipment.</li>
<li>Working in conditions outside ranging from extreme heat to cold exposure 50-80% of the time. </li>
<li>Required to use various types of Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) to handle hazardous materials and hazardous waste, including a rubberized suit and/or respiratory apparatus.</li>
<li>Repeated physical motions will be required in performing duties. </li>
<li>Required to wear personal protective equipment in the Alexander plant environment, which may include an escape respirator. </li>
