Reporting to the Director of Development &amp; Communications, the&nbsp;Major Donor &amp; Institutional Giving Officer (MDO) &nbsp;is a pivotal member of the Development team, responsible for securing philanthropic investment to help advance the organization’s mission of accelerating equitable access to renewable energy solutions. The role leads the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a focused portfolio of major individual donors ($5,000+) and institutional funders—including foundations, corporations, and public/government entities, while coordinating the full grants lifecycle—from prospecting and proposal development to reporting and compliance
The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship-builder and storyteller with a proven track record of successfully securing five, six- and seven-figure gifts and grants, deep expertise in donor strategy, and the ability to translate complex renewable energy and climate justice initiatives into compelling, results-oriented cases for support. Through strategic relationship management and cross-functional collaboration, this position will grow and diversify B.O.S.S.’ philanthropic support aligned to program impact to drive clean energy innovation, strengthen community resilience, support climate justice, and expand equitable access for historically underserved populations.
Minimum Qualifications include (but are not limited to):
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;or business administration) required. Advanced degree preferred.</li>
<li>5–8+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including 5+ years in major gifts and institutional giving.</li>
<li>Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding major donors, closing five, six, and seven figure major gifts and grants; comfort with gift negotiation and structuring.</li>
<li>Advanced proposal writing and case development skills; ability to translate technical clean energy concepts into compelling narratives.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, presentations, and proposals to engage diverse audiences.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of the nonprofit fundraising landscape, particularly major donor and institutional giving cultivation strategies, grant writing techniques, and fundraising best practices</li>
<li>Proven ability to conceptualize and describe funding needs, including the value of investing in clean/renewable energy sources (especially those provided by Black and Brown people) in a way that is compelling to prospects, donors, Board, staff, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Strong grants coordination experience (calendars, proposals, reporting, compliance) with foundations and corporations; familiarity with public/nonprofit grant mechanics.</li>
<li>Strong network of foundation, corporate, and individual philanthropic leaders with interests in racial equity and workforce development.</li>
<li>Passion for environmental sustainability, racial equity, and social justice, with a commitment to advancing B.O.S.S.'s mission and values.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of data utilization and management, as well as the effective use of fundraising technology and data for strategic operations and decision-making.</li>
<li>Excellent prospecting skills and experience using online grant databases; Understanding of government bid portals, SAM.gov, etc.</li>
<li>Advanced-level proficiency with solid, measurable experience in a variety of donor databases, software applications, social media platforms (REQUIRED: Salesforce/Raiser’s Edge/Network for Good; Donor Search; Crunch Base; Instrumenl; FreeWill; M365 suite; Zoom, Social Media apps).</li>
<li>Professional fundraising certification (i.e. CFRE; ACFRE) highly desirable; AFP Membership (in good standing) highly desirable.</li>
<li>Fluency in written and oral English (Required); Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable.</li>

Win’s Income Building Programsupports our clients by facilitating their transition fromunemployment to employment and helping those already employed toimprove their circumstances. Purpose of the Opportunity The Manager of Individual Gifts is responsible for identifying,cultivating, qualifying, and soliciting mid-level ($1,000-$4,999)donors to raise significant revenue for Win. Reporting to theSenior Director, Major Gifts, the Individual Giving officer managesaspects of the individual donor programs (events, communicationscontent, solicitation) to raise funds and donor commitments insupport of Win programs. Key Accountabilities
Donor Relations and Cultivation • Manage portfolio of donors supporting from $1,000-$4,999,including annual giving, from communications and engagement tosolicitation and stewardship. • Coordinate donor experiences involving Development and Programteams, including strategy development and preparation of briefingdocuments, formal proposals, and logistical support. • Oversee the acknowledgement and recognition processes formid-level donors, ensuring immediate, tailored, and accuratecorrespondence to donors, and on-going appreciation asappropriate.
Research and Metrics • Regularly provide reporting on mid-level financial progress as itrelates to overall goal. • Work closely with the Director of Development Operations todevelop systems and methodology to identify/qualify new Windonors. • Analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance,identify trends and share key learnings to inform strategicdecision-making.
 Data-Driven Approach • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date donor recordsin Salesforce, Win’s CRM database, with a focus on data hygiene.Work with the Development staff to ensure fulfillment andimplementation. • Track and report activities and progress towards goals throughthe fiscal year. The Position: The Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO (VPFA) reports directly to the President and is a key member of the President's leadership team. The VPFA must understand and be supportive of the mission of the College and be comfortable working transparently in partnership with the President, other administrative leaders, staff and faculty, and the Board of Trustees in an environment that embraces shared governance and values collaboration. Responsibilities: Strategy and Financial Leadership:
<ul>
<li>Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and advise the President and other key members of the leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.</li>
<li>In collaboration with the President and administration develop new revenue sources to support the mission of the College.</li>

Operations:

<li>Partner with the President of the College and the Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing in developing strategies that work to increase undergraduate net tuition revenue.</li>

<li>Direct and manage the assets of the College and develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the College.</li>

A Cuban immigrant and first-generation college student who grew up in Puerto Rico, Fernández comes to Warren Wilson with more than 30 years of experience in teaching and leadership positions at both private and public institutions.
